Stopped in for breakfast before heading back to Indiana after helping with Ice Storm Fern. Plenty of parking for large vehicles at that hour.
Wonderful food and great service in a really neat and cozy atmosphere. We all enjoyed the different dishes from country ham to biscuits and gravy to waffles.
After breakfast we wandered around while everyone was paying to take in the scenic views and wonder vintage items of decor.

Always delicious, unique meals! Service couldn't have been any better. It's in my top five restaurants in this area.
Whoever answers the phone is not very friendly..
I have been dining at Bistro 217 for several years. Just when you think the food can't get better and the service can't get better. It does. I went for Valentine's Day with my family. We were a table of six. The food was phenomenal. Everything from appetizers to dessert. The service couldn't have been better. They go above and beyond and you will have a wonderful experience if you dine here.
I ordered the pulled chicken salad. The chicken in the little cup was dry.
He ordered the big boss plate. Said, beans were good. The 1/2 chicken was dry. Pulled BBQ was dry. Ribs were tender but dry and flavorless.

They were very accommodating, as our Uber took longer than expected, so we arrived 17 minutes after our original reservation time. We did call right away to let them know we'd be arriving late. I think, as a result, we we seated at a table right next to the kitchen access and next to a party with several young, unruly children. Nevertheless, enjoyed an enjoyable meal with pear salad, French onion soup and Miso Cod. Always excellent service here & fun, lively environment!
Bistro 217 is the best - love the food & service. Not the fanciest decorated restaurant, but it works for us (classic ‘don't judge a book by it's cover')
We both enjoyed our meals. Excellent cocktails. House cab was delicious and reasonably priced. Our server was excellent. Will definitely return when we are in the area. A little pricey but worth it!

Always a great experience! Has been our favorite spot since they opened! Ashley was spectacular!
The filet mignon was delicious and cooked perfectly. The braised ribs were impeccable. The only disappointment was ordering apple beignets “ to go”. They were dripping with grease almost like they weren't even drained once they came out the fryer. They tasted like they were soaked in grease. Despite our disappointment in the “to go” dessert, we would still go back to Bistro 217.
The food, as always, was very good. The service, as always, was very good. My only complaint was that our table for 6 was crammed into a corner and was very difficult getting in and out. Everyone in our party was in their mid seventies and early eighties.
Fantastic atmosphere and culture. So many cool things to see. Friendly people. Very happy to have discovered this while working.
Food options were good and they were well made. Recommending the appetizer sampler.
We went back four times during our stay.
They have a coffee/ice cream shop and a general store. A sorta mini gatlinburg with walking trails and a bed and breakfast

NY Eve dinner was exceptional. Tiffany, our server, was wonderful. If back in the neighborhood, would definitely return.
