My husband I enjoyed a delicious brunch at this treasure in the Smokies. There was a 30 minute wait (Valentine's Day) so we walked over to the General Store until they had a table for us. What a treat!! The store was great with a wonderful coffee bar. The wait didn't seem like 30 minutes while enjoying my cup of coffee and cruising the store. From the delightful staff to the fresh food, I highly recommend visiting Elvira's Cafe.

My fiancé and I visited Elvira’s Café while on vacation for the New Year. A local family member had strongly recommended it, and as Floridians who love travel, try new foods, and learn about culture, meeting new people, and hearing tales from the locals, we were very excited to dine there.
Our waitress was an absolute gem. I truly regret not remembering her name, but I know I would notice her if I saw her. She shared so many wonderful stories about how she helps her family, how makes her meatloaf with Ravi sauce (something I am going to try), life in a log cabin (something we don’t have many of in the sunshine state), how her electrical is ran in the log cabin (we have an electrical company), and how she plans to spend the weeks during the seasonal closing at Elvira’s. Her openness and friendly nature was so appealing. The southern accent tied to a precious heart is a powerful tool in a restaurant, I can assure you. She had us wanting to buy the whole menu. She answered our questions and very naturally highlighted the warmth of southern hospitality in Tennessee. She was attentive, our order came quick and we had everything we needed. Start to finish she served us flawlessly.
However, when she walked away from our table we overheard another server comment, “you’re so loud!” to her (in front of the entire room, customers included) where I saw several tables turn their heads as our waitress walked away… then to make it even worse, the yelling coworker walked to the back of the room and commenced to whispering and giggling to two of their colleagues and they all cackled like hens. It instantly felt like middle school bullying. If it was a joke, it didn’t read the room. It was a disruption to the friendly atmosphere and dampened the sense of hospitality we had just experienced. As a business owner, I would be appalled if any one of our staff treated another this disrespectfully in front of our customers. I understand bustling restaurants can be hectic, but it’s so important for staff to support each other through this and maintain a respectful environment, especially with a lot of foot traffic and during a busy season.
That said, the mountain man omelet (which my fiancé enjoyed minus the gravy, since they were out) and my chicken and waffles were delicious. I would still return for the food and for our waitress. I truly hope the entire team can create a more positive, supportive dynamic among coworkers so every guest feels the warmth, hospitality, and friendliness we were seeking and shown only by our waitress.
Restaurants are to some, an experience, not just a meal. I hope this message reaches our precious waitress, as she will know exactly who we are: You are never too loud, never too enthusiastic, and never too much for anyone, keep being you! We LOVED Elvira’s because of YOU! ❤️

Showed up at 11:20 to have breakfast at a place only open for breakfast and brunch and was told we cannot have breakfast. Food was OK, will not be returning. Much better options at ither locations.

We were from out of town visiting for a little post Christmas trip! We were starving and noticed this place and decided to try it!! We walked in right at closing time and had no idea and the staff bent over backwards to make sure we were seated, fed, and not treated as an inconvenience!! Get the Grown up Grilled Cheese! It was phenomenal! The owner is incredibly sweet and we watched her single-handedly checked in with each of her team members!!
