We went on a really busy Saturday they were swamped with a tennis camp, but they handled it well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. It's nice they have inside and outside areas to eat. Definitely recommend stopping in for a great sandwich!Kid-friendliness: They had free popcorn and outside area to eat and hang out, kids loved that.

On the 17th of February, we attended our daughter first competition indoor track and field at the Sawanee University. When it was getting close to lunch time, I have asked one of the University personnel on recommendation of places I can grab lunch for my wife and I since it was our first time visit. She recommended several place but mentioned about Shenanigans as we were craving for sandwiches etc....I went and drove down the university street and enjoyed the site of old style buildings.Stop by and walk in to place my order and mind you that temps were in the mid 20's and was about 15 minutes till 11:00 which their paper sign did mention about their schedule but being there first time, I would think they would have provided some courtesy to let me stay a bit and warm up but was told by a short stature young lady that "we are not open till 11 and mentioned to me that the sign was on the door! I politely did mention to her that I was aware of it and just wanting to see what they had on their menu so I politely ask for one and she made a face like it was to much trouble and pick one up and handed over to me and commented to me that I can look it up online...hmmmm...after reviewing their menu and no interaction with me as it was getting close to lunch time, I decided to go next door (Blue Chair Cafe & Tavern) which was best decision I made as it was a pleasant experience and good was excellent. I am not sure if she was having a bad but it must have flow over with rest of the staff as again, no interaction from any of them especially when I stated "first time here"! I do hope it was a bad day for them but as a Native American, I would not like to experience such foolishness and do hope their customer service improve!

The price is up, and the quality of the food has gone down over the past 5 years. Nowhere near as tasty as it once was in years past.

Atmosphere is more dead than the dead sea. Now I'm talking about the dead sea in Jordan, where the salt content fosters an environment where life cannot prosper. Also it's in the Bible (dead sea scrolls).

Pretty cool place to have lunch. Order at the counter, you also get your beer there. Sandwiches, burgers etc.Food is good but this is more about the atmosphere.I recommend the club.

I’ve gotten food to go multiple times and enjoyed it - pretty solid little sandwich shop. Sat down today at a table near the counter and had a really uncomfortable experience as the manager - who seems to get a real kick out of making college students feel like trash - yelled at her staff and about business situations on and off for 20 minutes while sitting at the bar. Surely there’s an office where she can belittle her staff and let customers enjoy the front of the house?

Shenanigans is a quaint place. Founded in 1973, it is claimed to be the oldest structure in the area. They are catering to a specific group of people and I'm not necessarily one of them. I got the feeling that it was along the lines of a local microbrewary offering many local brews of which I did not partake that also served food of which I did. They do have a lot of varieties of grilled sandwiches, desserts and quiche.I stopped by on a whim during a motorcycle ride and would stop by again to try something else from the menu.Parking: Parking can be tricky as the place is usually busy.

Upscale bar food executed well, but don't come if in a hurry. It is the quintessential college hang out. Even if you did not matriculate at Sewanee, you will immediately feel the nostalgia of the hang out you wish you had where you went to school. Fried fresh mushrooms with horseradish sauce are a must. Grab a beer pitcher and be one with the environs.

Used to practically live at this place! Went back after almost 5 years but never again.Parking: Terrible layout since they have moved to the parking lot since Covid. Doesn't allow people to drive around the building to find parking unless they have to drive back out onto the street. The University used to not allow so much space for one business.Wheelchair accessibility: Terrible wheelchair access
