Nice place for casual lunch
Staff were friendly and very helpful as this was our first time here. I've passed through Sewanee plenty of times so we finally decided to check this place out. Was not disappointed at all! Food was great. We sat outside. Sewanee is absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. Daughter enjoyed her cheese burger so that's a plus. We will be back!
Amazing friendly and customer-centered staff. Food is amazing and we look forward to coming back!
Visited for the 1st time last week. It's a unique little place. My son had the cheese burger and he said it was great. My sandwich was pretty good but not my favorite. The fried mushrooms were excellent though.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Fun for college kids and families alike. A must stop when on the Mountain.
Recently went here, as a group of four. We were disappointed by our visit. Two in our group ordered fries with their meal, and they ended up asking for a refund before we left because they still weren't ready. I got the fried pickles, and they were incredibly overcooked. They didn't have any juiciness or flavor to them. I was really disappointed. The sandwiches were good, but I felt they were a little overpriced to not come with anything. The overall experience left a lot to be desired.
my first visit..was awesome...great food .
Great place to stop after a long mountain bike ride on the Perimeter Trail chasing views on the rim of the Cumberland Plateau. Their onion rings are so worth it and come piled high! Grabbed a Rueben sandwich which was awesome (even though they were out of sauerkraut, it was still well made). Can’t wait to visit after my next ride and try something else.
I love this place, it's the perfect setting for the vibes of this city. If you're wanting to know what this town is about, come here and order a burger and a drink. Soak in the atmosphere, and feel the history and pride that is the root of this city.
They couldn't do anything on the grill...Service was good...got quiche to go will post pictures.....later
i first visited here some 35-40 years ago when a friend who knew about this place stopped by on a road trip. This was the first place where I had a sandwich with alfalfa sprouts and i thought it was the neatest thing and added a unique flavor. I have not been back, so on our trip home we stopped by. I ordered a Shenanawich and my wife ordered the patty melt. There was a long wait for the food my wife's patty melt burger left a lot to be desired, with the meat only really on one half of the sandwich. The Shenanawich was good, but not as good as I remember, which I think can be said of a lot of things that are revisited after so many years have passed. It is a college hot spot for the University of the South, and I didn't see an6yone cleaning tables between guests, so no high marks for sanitation.
Great place great subs EXCELLENT. enjoyed the dining area
This was a really interesting place. It is in a college town, University of the South. So, the prices were a little high. It is also about the only place around for that type of food. I had hamburger and french fries. They were not comboed together so. The burger came with grilled onions and mushrooms. I love mushrooms but hate them on a hamburger. I wish I had noticed that on the menu. My first instinct was to sweep them off but I didn't. I wish I had. The fries were good and there was a lot of them.
Great place to stop after a long day on the trails. Perfect bar food for whatever craving you might be having. We look forward to stopping again next time we are through and can't wait to be there for a live music night. There were other places nearby too that looked like great places to check out. Great small community that was laid back and welcoming.
great burger...unfortunately not the best customer service.
