Small town tavern, perfect for slowing down, and taking a breather after a long day of hiking. Wings were delicious. Kids loved the chicken tenders with fries and we all devoured the pretzel bites and beer cheese! 10/10!!

Visited on a Friday about 12:15. They were busy but not overwhelmingly so. Service was very poor. Waitress got our drink order and then we waited 20 minutes for her to take our food order. Overall it took an hour from when we sat down till food was served. The chicken salad was good but waitress got the burger order wrong and hubby got the bean burger instead of hamburger. It was NOT good! Certainly not worth the wait. We won't be back.

We had an amazing breakfast at the Blue chair Cafe this morning. We were in town for a local conference field hockey tournament. The sausage gravy was particularly good and we had a wonderful conversation with the owner Jimmy. Great service and atmosphere

I was shocked by how awful this experience was. I previously rated the blue chair five stars but after waiting 45 minutes for my food and never receiving my coffee, I will think twice before returning. I waited nearly twenty minutes to pay while the staff actively ignored us at the register. Then I had to argue about not paying for drinks we never received. I hate to be angry about these things and I genuinely could not believe it. The service was truly awful

Was ignored by the staff for 20 minutes before we finally left without being served. It was a special day out for my wife and I and unfortunately we decided to start it off here. Never again.

I was eager to love this place, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the start. We were seated at our table, but had to get up and search for someone to take our order because no one attended to us after 20+ minutes of waiting. The food was a letdown - it was bland, and the ingredients seemed to be of poor quality. The flavors were unimpressive, and the fruit was stale, likely having been stored in the fridge for days. The coffee tasted stale as well. I genuinely hope this place improves, but they need to significantly enhance their cooking and service standards.

The restaurant seemed quaint with a nice atmosphere. However, it was confusing as to whether we were supposed to order at the counter or sit down. No one welcomed us or explained. We finally sat down in hopes we’d get some attention. The waitress said she’d be right with us then proceeded to take the order of a couple who just sat down. When she never came back and proceeded to take multiple orders from walk-ins (by this time the other couple was getting annoyed too) we decided to leave. Unless you’re ok with sitting there and being ignored I wouldn’t recommend this place.

This should be -10…We ordered oatmeal and waited 45 minutes. We asked 3 servers to check on it-finally left very upset! I mean how long does oatmeal take😫
Great place! My daughter and I stopped in here while hiking and exploring in the area.
We started with some delicious fried pickle spears, she had a salad that she really enjoyed and I had a patty melt that was great! Both came with homemade chips, and we washed it all down with a couple of draft beers each (it was happy hour!)
Great atmosphere and service in this smallish cafe and tavern in the middle of town! Will return when in the area!

Food was delicious! Our waitress was not thrilled that we asked to sit in the bakery area, as they left the door open in the restaurant area and we were quite cold, but she got over it. They did also confuse our checks when we needed them split individually. But still, I’d definitely recommend the place!

We had a delightful breakfast at the Blue chair Cafe. The gravy was some of the best we've ever had, especially at a restaurant. We enjoyed talking with Jimmy the owner and swapping stories about Sewanee University. and the history of the town. Definitely a must try!
