Had a great time at the distillery. Julie was a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and knew a lot of history. Had some samples of whiskey. Would recommend making a trip to this place
Had a tour with Tyler and he was fantastic! The tour was beautiful, insightful, and empowering. Due to the history and whiskey itself of Uncle Nearest. This is one of my favorite distillery tours I’ve ever been on. Greatest birthday gift ever
Wonderful place to see up close and personal! The tour guide Mr. Terrell was amazing and has a vast amount of knowledge of the history and the future of the Uncle Nearest brand. Keep up the good work and I hope you guys reach your 1 million visitors mark sooner rather than later! Go and check out the tour it’s more than just a tasting. It is an experience that you will always remember.
Do yourself a big favor. Take your family, take your friends, but definitely GO!! Spend the day at the Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville. Take a tour through a great american success story. If you're a fan of Tennessee Whiskey, sign up for a tasting. After the tour, make your way over to the Humble Baron for food, drinks plus, live entertainment. Featuring the world's longest bar (518 feet) you'll have no problem finding a seat. For those wanting a souvenir, the gift shop is packed with a wide variety of merch. We had a blast. It's a great way to spend a day!!
Visiting the Uncle Nearest Distillery was an awesome experience! It was so much more than we could have ever imagined. Our tour guide Terrell was very informative, and I'm looking forward to visiting them all again at the Uncle Nearest Distillery.
Great Tour, Amazing Food, Great Drinks
Terrell is a great fir your Tour
Beautiful place awesome bar! We had an excellent tour guide his name was Tyler. Enjoyed the tour and tasting we also had cocktail from bar before we left. That bar is really something to see go check it out.
The Uncle Nearest tour provided me & my family with a thorough history lesson and the tasting was amazing. Each product is very high quality!
Beautiful facility. Ashley is a fantastic host for the brand ! But the experience was perplexing for sure with pricing, options , signage and the bar .. all very apparently stripped of very necessary funding to resuscitate its success.
Disappointed that the distillery is not on the Dan Call farm . Had this been on the original site of where whiskey was born it may not be in the current state of demise. The facility does not represent the humble origin that is the heart of the story . The distillery is not a working distillery. The product is made by a Costco production facility that makes a Kirkland brand Tennessee Whiskey .
Update the distillery on the site of the distillery and move production to where it should be on the Nearest property . Stop outsourcing and bring it in house to right turn financial ship .
Brown Forman clearly does not understand the story nor the importance to be the agent and steward of the story letting the 3 original sites go focusing only on the profit and distribution from the main location sites in Lynchburg proper.
Perhaps the larger question ...if Brown Forman has now affirmed Nathan was the original master distiller it could be argued substantially that the recipe itself he himself perfected for the original No. 7 is the property of Green and his descendants.
With the history of Lynchburg coming from and built on early microlending , maybe the solution is selling loan notes for the property and brand with royalty rights to those who support its legacy or do another equity round to solicit private investors as done previously .
Our first visit . Hoping it will not be our last but that's why we came to visit America's origin story of whiskey
God Bless Nearest and his story .
