We visited last month to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday while spending the weekend in Tennessee, and we decided to take a tour of the Uncle Nearest Distillery. The experience was incredibly informative from learning the history of Uncle Nearest and the ranch to understanding his relationship with Jack Daniel. It was just us and another couple on the tour, which made the experience even more personal. Our guide, Tyler, was outstanding. He has such a bright spirit, and his personality made us feel genuinely warm and welcomed. Huge shoutout to Tyler for the amazing job he’s doing down on the ranch my wife and I still talk about him to this day. We also had the opportunity to sample several whiskeys during the tasting, which was a great experience. At the end of the tour, we were fortunate enough to meet the owners and a member of Uncle Nearest’s family possibly his granddaughter or niece. Overall, we had an amazing time. One last shoutout to Tyler he truly made the experience unforgettable.

Beautiful facility with a fun tour that takes you through the whole history from Uncle Nearest himself to the present day brand relaunch. You can do a tasting as part of the tour, or in the restaurant or gift shop. Pro tip: the gift shop tasting is ~1/3 the price of the same thing in the restaurant if you’re there during the limited hours it’s offered. The gift shop also has cool displays about the distilling process, so if you’re not able to do a tour, you can still learn something.

The Uncle Nearest tour was good and our guide, Tyler, was very informative. We had the wings at Humble Baron and ran into Uncle Nearest Welcome Center Manager, Tamarra, who greeted us and was super engaging. We are visiting from San Diego and she spent the time to share great places to visit with so much energy and exuberance I wished I could put her in my pocket and take her home.
Highly recommend the wings and the Moonwalking in Calabasas drink.
