Amigos Restaurant

This place came highly recommended by a local and was definitely off the beaten path, so we stopped by for lunch. The food was delicious, authentic, made-from-scratch. The best tasting Mexican in the Smithville area.

That being said, there are no prices on anything. The menu is written daily on a white board. Two for lunch, plus one soft drink, with chips and salsa to-go came to $47 without a tip!! We had no idea they only accepted cash, but managed to pull it off between the two of us. Posting that detail along with prices would sure be helpful and save some embarrassment. Great food but i have no idea how people can afford to eat here on a regular basis, especially with a family.

The most authentic Mexican Restaurant north of the Rio Grande. And you can find hard to find dishes like the Buche and the Suadero. Keep and open mind and try these and whatever else you find at your typical Tex mex restaurants around here. Buen provecho!!!!

Make sure you take cash, they do not take cards. The food was okay. The chips and salsa were really good and fresh. Would go back for chips and salsa or nachos.

Parking: Parking is tight, probably better for to go orders.

Pretty neat very niche place. The food was great but it was a bit confusing without prices or menus but we managed to get some awesome food.Don’t let the exterior deter you from trying this very unique Mexican restaurant

Really good food, my opinion.. being Hispanic from all the Mexican restaurants in tennesee, this is my favorite big portion of food. we love it here I drive an hour to come here !
