Its hard to find good food without the price, but Harveys has the best food and affordable prices!

Cheese burgers were very good and the peanut butter milkshake was one of the best I have ever had and I have had 100's. Place does not look very impressive by any means but the food is very good. Priced very reasonable and we were treated as if we came in everyday and this was our first visit. We had been told to try by friends and they were right.

Got it to go. Went here as a kid many years ago. Harvey was there and chatted with us while we waited on our food. Got some history on the local football team. I had been craving an old fashioned hamburger. They did not disappoint. My only regret is that I should have eaten it slower.

These guys are great. Lots of heritage. Proud home town supporter. Great cheese burger. Done like it was 30 years ago.

When they say "hole in the wall", they aren't kidding! With that said, this place is a gem! You may be looking at a wall or ceiling waiting to cave in, possibly a rain puddle dripping on to a neighboring table, but the food is fantastic! Leave your snobbery at home.

Great hometown food and great friendly staff that make you feel at home. Down home prices can't be beat!

Let me tell you about Harvey's Pirate Restaurant in South Pittsburg. Let's call it a 6 star hidden treasure in a 5 star world. Right now, it is in the #1 position for our top 5. When we pulled up, we weren't sure they were open. It's a small rundown building with broke windows. Upon entering, you're greeted by Harvey. He's old, doesn't talk good, and country as it gets. It's a sit anywhere place. We selected a ice round table. There were about 6 unmatched tables to choose from. As you walked across the floor, you could hear your shoes stick. The table had a few drips. Could have been wiped better. The walls are covered by old photographs... baseball, Nascar, misc. random people. There was a blow up dinosaur hanging from the ceiling covered in dust. There were sheets of Lowe's insulation hanging on the walls. as we sat there... wondering if we should get up and leave this "crusty, musty, dusty" place, Harvey brought the menu's and sweet tea. Tea is one of the things we judge in restaurants. It is the first thing we taste and this tea was perfect. They peel their potatoes. That's also important to us. And, they use real potatoes. The shrimp was perfection. Perfect crunch and texture. The hamburger steak tasted like an old fashion hamburger steak from the 60's. The daily special was meatloaf. You don't get choices. I guess you could get substitutes. Didn't ask. But I got the special which was meatloaf, cream corn, green beans, cornbread and strawberry cake. My only complaint was the sauce on the meatloaf was ketchup. I prefer the brown sugar/ketchup mixture. The entire meal was excellent. Made us forget the place was as nasty as our own kitchen. Maybe a little worse. We'll be back next year. Hopefully, they'll mop before then. Oh, and 3 of us ate for under $20.

More character than old time television. Thank you for the delicious sandwich.

While the two older gentlemen running the place were nice? After ordering? I didn't eat the food, once I looked harder,,and I don't recommend it! SERIOUSLY! THIS IS THIS FILTHIEST MOST UNSANITARY DIRTY RESTAURANT IVE SEEN IN A VERY VERY LONG TIME! I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THE DOORS WOULD STAY OPEN IF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT WENT IN. I'm sorry if this offends the owners,as it seems it was probably once the LOCAL FAVORITE,but you cannot serve food in there, time to sell it or shut down for a serious deep cleaning and disinfecting! Along with a paint job. I'm sure the town would rally behind you but you need to stop before someone gets sick.Respectfully

the wife and I just hiked Russell Cave trails and were in the mood for calories. we just had to have a burger competition between Harvey's Pirate Drive-In (cheese burger) and Dixie Freeze (southwest burger). we had the dog with us, so the challenge had to be done in the car.both burgers were fantastic! the only thing we weren't huge fans of, and not that they were bad, Harvey's fries just couldn't beat Dixie's tots.it was a fun competition for us and we highly recommend the burger from Harvey's - there's no wrong choice. if we ever find ourselves traveling through Pittsburg TN again, we'll have to repeat this challenge!

Best breakfast around old man Harvey reminded me of my great-grandfather. Just do not be in a hurry.
