We love this brewery! Friendly service, incredible drafts, and the best patio. Great place to hang out with family / friends. They also have a cute shop with local goods and gifts. They serve coffee and you can bring your own food when there’s not a food truck (sounds like they usually have one on weekends). Recommend picking up a to-go sandwich at the Mad Raven and pairing it with a draft ?
Been coming here when we visit friends. Such a fun place with fantastic beer!
Fantastic beer, definatly worth the detour!
We first got to try a Calfkiller beer on a trip to Nashville, where someone at a growler fill store didn't know how to fill one and left us with about 1/4 head for a Sergio's (rest of name redacted for the safety of the children) Ale. However, once we had gotten home and figured that we might as well try it anyway, we were blown away at the quality of the beer despite the poor handling by the shop which will not be named.
This weekend we were planning our trip home from Asheville NC via Florence AL, and we noticed that Calfkiller was on the way, as long as we didn't mind backroads driving. Since we're not interstate people anyway, that sounded like a deal! The highways were actually easier and less stressful to navigate than the interstates, as we found out.
It was such a pretty drive, and following the river up to the taproom was a joy. Once we got there, we were met with some helpful and friendly folks who were excited to have us try their beer. We settled on the Smokey Treat Rauchbier, and it paired very well with my pepperoni pizza and her gyro that we had picked up from Yanni's Grill, and we ate and drank on Calfkiller's patio watching the wind wave the willow and listening to the fire crackle in the pit.
If you're a fan of beer, don't mind the countryside, and know and love how a chill place feels, get to Calfkiller, and pick us up on the way, if you don't mind.
Update for 2024: it's even better now, and we still need to get here more often.
We love hanging out at Calfkiller Brewing Co. The hand crafted beers are always so good. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. It's our go-to place when we want to have a great time and meet people.
Located off the beaten path. Only 4 beers on tap, but all were good. Unique outdoor area. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Worth the trip.
Great beer, good food, gorgeous gardens, games for the kids (of all ages), super friendly staff, right on the Calfkiller. Love it!
Awesome beer, great service!

Damn boys, you have done it again... The Finest beer possible!!!!!
Great location with a good selection of ice-cold beer. Nice sitting area with a shade tree to relax by. We tried a few different beers and enjoyed every one of them.
We tried every beer on tap and each one was fantastic (and I don't usually like IPAs).
We love this bar/brewery! The source of all good beer in rural central Tennessee! Rita is the best and hardest working bar maid in the state!
Great beer, best beer garden in the greater Nashville area. (Sorry Pharmacy, I'm talking beer garden here, not hamburger garden). Always worth the trip. Reminds me a lot of the great small breweries located in the middle part of Vermont.
