I cannot say enough good things about Rob and Megan and The Bakery at 1871.
Everything we have tried has been absolutely delicious! Super fresh, high quality ingredients and not overly sweet. Reminds me of European pastries.
Love to see their friendly, smiling faces and of course, the baked goods!
Beautiful, clean building too.
Try them out- you will NOT be disappointed!!

Everything that I ordered last week was absolutely delicious! The scones were just perfect and the pastries and sourdough bread were delicious as always! Sparta is very blessed to have this special little Bakery!

Not your typical overly sugared choices. This is quality over quantity,so happy to have this in Sparta. If there is any problem it's that the word is getting out,so selection is not always full, but I'm glad they choose quality over production .

One of best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time! Despite being closed due to having market the day before, the owner came out and gave us fresh baked cookies and bread. Definitely the best sourdough in the area – go check them out! ???

We are here visiting and saw this bakery on Facebook. Stopped by this morning to see what they had available. Their peach and basil scone was exactly what a scone should be, moist and full of flavor. So good that I went back with my mom and grandma to try the blackberry Danish and the peach and blueberry meringue. Everything was beyond delicious!

Quite possibly my favorite place to visit in Sparta! The smell of fresh bread and exquisite pastries is just fantastic! Just another reason why Sparta has the best food in the upper Cumberland.

The bakery has to be Sparta's most charming destination! A beautiful balance of down to earth owners and heavenly treats. They have perfected croissants, pastries and breads. I highly recommend placing a reservation on Mondays when the weekly menu is posted because they sell out fast!

First time coming to The Bakery at 1871. Upon entering, the delightful aroma will arouse your senses. Not to mention the architecture of the historic house is exquisite. The owners were very inviting and a pleasure to talk with. I got a Scone, Danish and a loaf of Blackberry and Thyme for under $20. We arrived early and they were still taking items from the oven. Highly recommend to get there early for a great selection. Will definitely be back!!

The Bakery at 1871 has such a warm atmosphere. It's both inviting and charming. They have absolutely perfected every form of the croissant, with buttery flakes lining your lips at each bite...pure perfection. And it's not owned by people who can simply bake well. No. The owners have genuine hearts to support the Sparta community and uplift other local businesses. 10/10 recommend the people, the place and most definitely the pastries!

A hidden gem in the middle of Sparta. The home is absolutely beautiful and the people there are so kind. We were lucky enough to try a pear croissant. Eager to return and get some of the bread. They sell out quickly, so get there early!

OMG … had an incredible “test” sample today. Stuffed croissant with mascarpone, blackberry, pear and a caramel sauce!!!! This definitely needs to be added to the rotation!
