We’ve been coming here since the days when a warm vanilla steamer was the drink of choice for the kids. We’ve since graduated to half-shot vanilla lattes. Growing up in a small town means connection—friendly faces, familiar conversations, and warm, caffeinated drinks. I’ve always said I couldn’t live in a small town unless it had three things: a good coffee shop, a brewery, and great Asian food—all locally owned. Springfield has all three, and this coffee shop is a big part of why.
Love the avocado toast.😋
Very smooth expresso. They make consistent fantastic coffee.
They got good coffee
Really disappointed in the Café au lait... I ordered to-go and the moment I took a sip I tasted straight coffee. The coffee is good but I ordered the Café au lait because it's supposed to be half coffee and half milk. I opened my drink and noticed there was maybe a splash of oat milk, which I paid extra for. I'm very sad. I had to drive to H.G. Hills and get some creamer before going anywhere else. I've always loved their coffee and their food, but this one missed the mark. Just wanted to give the feedback.

We love to support local business located in small towns or cities around the country. Especially when they are not part of a big franchise and owned by local people. Downtown Springfield has a stretch of street about three blocks long around its courthouse with several businesses and stores. It has been restored and in my opinion it has a lot of potential for more stores, restaurants and offices. I was sad to see the movie theater go, and I hope someone brings it back to life - maybe a restaurant or a local drama theater. Maybe a school of drama from a college. Back to the coffee shop on the stretch. I would give them a 5 rating for their coffee and beverages selection. My coffee was really good. We were walking the town with my mother in law who lives in Springfield and decided to stop and have lunch at the Perk, as it is known in town. The old building has been renovated inside and it is really cool. I would also give it a 5 rating as a historic building even if the owners need to add more decoration to the place. Perhaps some old pictures of the town or maybe some tobacco farming vintage pictures and artifacts The 3 rating I’m giving this place is because of the food we had. My breakfast sandwich was nothing special. It almost seem like a sandwich I could slap together in my kitchen on the run. It was not bad, just boring. My wife had the chicken salad and it was salty. So the kitchen needs some improvement. The menu does not have to be big and complicated because after all you are a coffee shop, but it needs to be better than what you can get at a Starbucks. Get some special touch to your sandwiches to really make them a featured item. Make people say “im going to the Perk to have a cappuccino and that really cool delicious chicken sandwich.” That instead of “I can make better chicken salad with my leftovers than this sandwich”. Please take my feedback in a positive way. I would love to see this coffee shop successful and contribute to the Springfield downtown traffic and life. It was the town my wife was born in and grew up at. I will come back on my next visit. Wishing you success. The

Historic Perk is minutes from my home. Their quality of coffee and incredible staff set them apart from others! I visited a coffee shop in W. Nashville this morning for a meeting. They offered a “Cuban” coffee , which I ordered because this specific drink is my go-to at H.P. To say I was disappointed in this shops Cuban would be an understatement. I want to shout out H.P. for doing what they do SO WELL!! You guys are pretty amazing and will have my business long-term! ❤️

Stopped by for a cup of coffee prior to a meeting I have around the corner. The young lady recommended any drink with their in-house made Carmel, so I opted for a Carmel latte and it was delicious. I am on the road often and always prefer to support local businesses and this was a hidden gem in Springfield, TN.

Cute place, but they stop serving lunch at 1, which, to me, seems like exactly when people want lunch. The staff should be trained to make the food. Otherwise, they are standing around most of the day only making coffee. I don't recall it saying anywhere that the food service stops.

Excellent place for yummy coffee and sandwiches/snacks. I love the decor and it’s such a cozy place to sit and enjoy oneself. Buy some coffee and locally made snacks to take home, as well!
