server was nice. food was not good. fish was horribly over cooked and had a pungent fishy smell. fries were under cooked and cold. skillet nachos were not warm and all of the cheese had hardened like it was cooked in a microwave previously. Cheese burger was the same, luke warm, hard waxy cheese and actually had holes through out the patty. very poor execution

The fries are visually seasoned but taste like nothing, the baked ziti was bland and greasy, and the Rueben was somehow bland too. The burgers and mixed drinks are good though!

A friend and I had Sunday brunch there not long ago. We made sure to get there by no later than ten fifteen or so when they first opened because we knew they would be crowded. Food was excellent and the service was very good. Very nice atmosphere, music was playing, but not very loudly, so you could actually have a decent conversation which was refreshing.!

Service was great! Greeted by someone at the bar as soon as we walked. Unfortunately the food was horrible. Crab dip was a small dollap of what tasted like store bought food. No lump crab in it. There was more pita and veggies than dip. The pasta wasn't mixed in the sauce, strange having dry pasta with very little sauce on the bottom. There were big pieces of uncooked tomato with huge pineapple slices on top. Shrimp was overcooked. The dish was very compartmentalized. Threw everything in the trashcan.

We’ve ate at this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed it, but tonight was a major disappointment. The service was slow and inattentive—the servers seemed more focused on socializing with other teens dining at the restaurant than taking care of their tables. When our food finally arrived, it was cold and had to be sent back. It returned in under a minute, clearly just microwaved. The chicken was so dry it was inedible, and I didn’t eat it. The waitress could clearly see that I hadn’t touched the meal, yet she never asked if it was okay, if I’d like to speak with a manager, or even if I liked it. I’ve ordered this same dish many times at lunch in the new location, and it’s always been excellent—making tonight’s experience especially frustrating. This was by far the most disappointing visit we’ve ever had at Public House.

We drove down from Kentucky for Sunday lunch. We arrived at 1:30pm. The restaurant is open until 2:00pm on Sundays. However, we were told that they were no longer serving food as they closed the kitchen at 1:30pm. I found this a sad way of doing business. We love coming to this quaint place and the food has always been great. This certainly discourages us from coming again on a Sunday.

I occasionally have multiday stays in Springfield for work. I make it a point to stop in the Public House. Every time I eat here the food is outstanding, as are the drinks. You can't go wrong, this place is a gem. Definitely try the TN tobacco barn!

You gotta get a burger here! Fresh, cooked to order burgers. We were craving a REAL burger instead of fast food and decided to order carryout from Public House. I got cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and pickle for mine. (Just note it's a pickle spear and not sliced pickles, I personally wanted sliced pickle for my burger but no biggie) My ONLY complaint isn't even about the burgers.... it's the fries. They were way overcooked, hard as a rock and way over salted. It was completely empty when I walked in so I'm not sure what happened. But the fries missed big time. The flavor was good but it felt like I was eating day old fries reheated. My feedback for the restaurant is work on the fries and maybe offer sliced pickles for burgers please!

Parking: About 4 or 5 free street parking spots right beside the restaurant and a few free lots within walking distance.

Our group of 6 had a really great time atvTge Public House. This restaurant in old town Springfield is in a beautiful old
historic building. Buddy, our server was really fun and fast. The drinks were really good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service.

Food was a little on the expensive side. Reuben sliders were good. Burger was a little bland. Brought some home for another meal. 😊
