Had the hamburger steak which was tasty. Served with mash potatoes that had cheese on them which I did not care for. The Mac and cheese was not traditional Mac and cheese and I did not like it. Not many options for sides except several with similar seasonings. The meanness served in a bowl which was odd and not as easily accessible to cut the steak.

Definitely unique, especially for Springfield.
The food was good, but it took almost 40 minutes for it to get to the table after we ordered. And then, when we finally were served, the food was lukewarm.

Maybe it was just a bad day to come? We'll give it another chance eventually

My husband and I attended an event at Public House tonight, and were so impressed I had to leave this review as soon we got home. It was a Cocktails by Candlelight dinner event. I told them it was our anniversary, and I believe every single person working stopped by to tell us Happy Anniversary. I did not expect that, and it was such a tender touch that it really made the night special. It was matched by how WONDERFUL the food and drinks were. Absolutely everything that came to our table was cooked to perfection and served with care. Our main waitress (and I'm so sorry I didn't get her name, but she was a younger person with long blonde hair) was so attentive and kind. I asked for a special request due to me not being able to eat seafood, and they were not upset and provided the best pepper pasta ever. I love spice and it was perfect.

This was our first visit and we already talked about coming back next week. I didn't mention it, but the vibe inside the place is tops. It's such a groovy atmosphere.

This year has been tough on us, and we were overdue for a night out. This was perfect and we can not thank everyone from back of house, front of house, ALL around the Public House enough.

Service was too slow for the place to be as slow/dead as it was. We would have spent $75 more dollars if we could have gotten better service but when you wait 5 mins to greet a table and 10 mins to make drinks I no longer need an appetizer… got the food to go took way too long and server never checked on us after we ordered food we wanted more drinks but she missed out.

The food was decent. Not good and not bad, mediocre. The restaurant was clean and the server was polite. We never got our appetizer so we asked to have it removed from the check. The menu has some odd things paired together. It’s almost like they really want to be upscale but fall short of it.

Everything was good and the service was awesome. I had the shepherds pie which was enjoyable. My wife had a chicken dish, the chicken was a little dry but very tasty. The salads were really good with the bacon vinaigrette. We will go back.

I decided to give this place one more shot. The first time I ate here, I had two fantastic cocktails (even though my waitress told me they ran out of rosemary sprigs for my rosemary features cocktail) and fish and chips that included mostly inedible fish. I still don’t know if it was overcooked or undercooked. All I know is I was trying to saw through it. Either way, they took it off the bill, so they did me a solid there.

Tonight was a first Friday night. My husband and I decided to give it a try. No water, and when they did bring us water, they only brought out one glass for two people. The menu listed citrus dressed greens with my burger but the waitress said that was just a garnish. Okay, fine. My burger came out. No dressed greens even as a garnish. Bun was stale. Burger was subpar. The Parmesan balsamic carrots-weird. Nothing was great. I’m just disappointed in the food and service. Sure, it was busy, but the waitress acted like I offended her. Not my intention ever. The atmosphere is cute but I wouldn’t eat or drink here again.

I think having a chef in the kitchen would improve things, especially for the prices. Also, they should have been bett prepared for more business on First Friday. Busy should not mean lower quality.

Walked in on a Friday at 7:30pm. Maybe 1 other person in there. Ordered crab dip. Came out cold and I didn't find a single shred of crab. Served with cold pita. Weird. It was basically cream cheese for $15. The other people I was with didn't like their food either. Drinks weren't great. Overly sweet. Needless to say I won't be back.
