This place is all hype. The views are fantastic, no argument there. Service is very slow and the food was average at most. Definitely not worth the price of what the “experience” costs. A nice view of the city was basically the only good memory I will have of the place.
Truly a 5-star experience. The views of LA from this floor are just breathtaking. It will take two elevators and several minutes to get there but it is well worth the wait. The decor is upscale, sophisticated. The hostess are great. The combination of music, lighting, and views makes for a great time. This restaurant offers 3 course dining and if there is something in any course you really liked, you can order additional portions, for a price. My 1st course: Japanese Sea Bream Crudo. My 2nd course: Australian Barramundi. My 3rd course: Chocolate Semifreddo. The Japanese Sea Bream just melts in your mouth. Its fish cut sushi grade with floral ceviche presentation. The Australian Barramundi may now be my favorite white fish. Skin cooked to crisp sitting on a bed of caramelized vegetables and almonds with a lemon citrus flavor. And for the finale, the Semifreddo, think light, but sweet chocolate mouse, with choclate cookie. 71Above, is truly a dining experience. This is now my favorite restaurant in all of LA.
What a terrible service We obviously know windows are not guaranteed but when you mention on your reservation that's it's your daughter's birthday and then when at least 5 tables by the windows were available and I asked to be moved, guess what not even a beginning of effort to make it happen. The chicken was terrible. $500 for 3 for such a poor experience is a real shame!!!
Our dinner for four was a splendid experience from start to finish. Although it took some time to be escorted to our table, we were rewarded with a spectacular view. We had the three course menu which offered several great option. The steak was cooked to perfection. I sampled two of the pasta starters and they were excellent. Highly recommend and I will definitely go back!
Great experience overall. Wonderful service from everyone. Very attentive. Food was delicious just wish appetizer and main course had been served hotter. Wish there were a veg served with entree. But overall an extraordinary experience with wonderful service, and ambience. Loved the amuse bouche touch from the chef. Gorgeous view. Very enjoyable celebration. They honored our celebration with a free cocktails. That was also very classy.
Food, service, atmosphere, experience. Could not pick between any one of them as to which was better.
I had a wonderful time with my fiancé the food the view the staff were amazing one of the best in LA
The food was excellent, the views were amazing, the service was perfect. One of the best places for a date night or any special event. Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. No complaints
My wife and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary at 71Above, and the entire experience was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special and thoughtfully done. The food was absolutely incredible every dish was perfectly prepared, and we were even surprised with a few compliments from the chef, which made the night feel even more memorable. The view is honestly breathtaking. Being that high above Los Angeles while enjoying such an amazing meal created such a unique atmosphere for our celebration. Toward the end of the night, the staff kindly accommodated us with a window seat for dessert, which made the moment even more magical as we looked out over the city lights. A huge thank you to the team for making our anniversary feel so special. The service, food, and views were all exceptional. We'll definitely remember this night for a long time. 🌆✨🍽️❤️
First time back since late ‘19. We were greeted effusively by the restaurant hostess and seated on time at a lovely window table. Security at the front desk on floor 1 were cordial. The food was excellent as was the ambiance naturally. I had to send my drink back as it was overly strong. Second one was on point. The dessert was excellent. Overall impressed with the food and restaurant but the service was average at best. Just not attentive (pouring our water, wait times for drinks, etc.,)

Our server Lawrence did a fantastic job. All steaks were cooked perfectly and were super tender.
Absolutely gorgeous and delicious food. Well worth it. As it is fine dining, expect a a bill of around 250-400 dollars.
Wonderful culinary experience at 71Above. All the way from Brisbane Australia. Do yourself a favour when in LA - gr8 food, service and big city lights #worldclass
It is a bit sad that we didn't have a window table due to their high demand, however the food, the atmosphere, and the experience overall was excellent. We had a three course menu. I got the grilled octopus for my appetizer; it was well cooked and the texture was soft inside and crispy outside; the taste was delicious, especially with the yogurt sauce on the plate. For the entree I got the 5A Wagyu Filet Mignon (additional $110), it is worth the price with the excellent cooked on the Wagyu - it melted in my mouth, the sauce alone was a bit salty for me but it actually balanced with the side on the dish. I got a chocolate something for the desert (I forgot the name), for someone who is obsessed with desert like myself, I'd rate it 9/10. The decoration is simple yet elegant, the taste is perfectly mixed between the bitterness of chocolate and sweetness of the cream, the texture is well balanced of the softness of chocolate + cream on the top with the crunchiness of the tar at the bottom! Service was nice and well taken care of us. Overall, it was an excellent experience! I'd highly recommend it if you would love to have an elegant experience here for some special occasions!
Tallest restaurant west of the Mississippi had to go there. Heard about it. Had a special anniversary night to celebrate.so we splurged. Valet parked right in front. The staff was friendly, attentive, professional, couldn't have been better. Had to take 2 elevators to reach floor 71. Had staff help all the way. The restaurant is low light and elegant. We sat at a window table. What a view! The food was in 3 courses. We had choices for each course. I had the prettiest salad I've ever seen. It had flowers throughout. Could have been a bouquet! The desserts were the best of the 3 courses. Tasted wonderful. For our main entrée we upgraded to the Japanese A5 Wagyu steak. I had one of these steaks before and it just melted in my mouth. Well, unfortunately, the steaks we were served left much to be desired. My steak bites either were chewy, or tasted like I was eating pure fat. Very disappointing. I didn't want to say anything. Maybe I should have but we were celebrating. I didn't want to bring the evening down. Very impressive place. Very memorable evening. But I must say that was one of the worst steaks I have ever had and I paid extra for it.
