We've been going to The Pit for years, but the last time we were there in March, the place was run down and dirty. It would be a shame that a place with such good food would lose business because the place wasn't being kept up and clean.
Stop here today to get dinner. First time I'd been there. The food was great and the girls behind the counter were super nice. I would make that drive from UC just to eat here. Awesome place.
From a Memphian, this is solid bbq. Pork had good flavor if not a bit fatty and smallish portion. Ranch-style potato salad is great, but slaw was the cloyingly sweet kind you find premade. I like the flavor of the sauces, especially the hot. Pork plate was a good value including drink for $14.
