Stopped here by chance when I drove by and noticed it. They have a great beer selection. Taco Tuesday street style tacos were delicious. Owner was friendly and fun to talk to. I hope to stop by again when I am in the area! I highly recommend this spot.

Now listen, if you ever get the itch to take a little drive out to where the cell service waves the white flag, point your rig toward that Tennessee–North Carolina line, and stop in at the Thirsty Turtle Beer Garden. 🍻 It’s the kinda place that makes a special trip to the sticks feel like a smart decision. Service was friendlier than your favorite aunt at Sunday supper, beers were colder than a creek in February, and the food? Let’s just say I ain’t proud of how much I ate, but I ain’t sorry neither. Worth every mile of backroad and every bug on the windshield. If you leave hungry or grumpy, that’s on you. #ThirstyTurtle #TurtletownEatin #TNNCLine #WorthTheDrive #BackwoodsApproved #ColdBeerHotPlate #CountryCritic

A great friendly bar. I was told when you move South, you can't get good pizza. This has been totally proven wrong. You have to try the pizza on Sundays. During the Summer the Friday turtle races are a must. Did I mention they have BEER. Very friend crowd - locals and travelers. Stop in.

I can’t wait to try this place! Here is a good review I saw on an area FB group. (Note: Turtle races use “rubber ducky” type turtles, not live animals!)
“The Thirsty Turtle Beer Garden on the TN line at 294/123 is phenomenal. Tuesday nights are tacos, our selections were pulled chicken tinga or carnitas pork, freshly made on flour tortillas with chips and house made Pico de Gallo. They have a small selection of great sandwiches all served with house made potato salad or chips from Wed - Sat. Captain beef heart is delicious. Sunday is pizza…in a brick oven and makes fresh pies on house-made dough. All this at a roadside beer bar with pool tables and dart boards, a nice pavilion on the creek, Cornhole on the deck and [toy] turtle races in the creek on Fridays. Make it a point to go out of your way to pay it a visit.”
