I can’t wait to try this place! Here is a good review I saw on an area FB group. (Note: Turtle races use “rubber ducky” type turtles, not live animals!)
“The Thirsty Turtle Beer Garden on the TN line at 294/123 is phenomenal. Tuesday nights are tacos, our selections were pulled chicken tinga or carnitas pork, freshly made on flour tortillas with chips and house made Pico de Gallo. They have a small selection of great sandwiches all served with house made potato salad or chips from Wed - Sat. Captain beef heart is delicious. Sunday is pizza…in a brick oven and makes fresh pies on house-made dough. All this at a roadside beer bar with pool tables and dart boards, a nice pavilion on the creek, Cornhole on the deck and [toy] turtle races in the creek on Fridays. Make it a point to go out of your way to pay it a visit.”
This place was a welcomed surprise to drop into!! They’re doing everything right to be one of our favorite local haunts!
...Fantastic Food was the Best 4.5 star Sandwiches and Pizza 5.0 stars . Best billards players gather here for greatest competition and friendly games... Such a joy to meet so many good people...
Wonderful little stop, prices are comparable to any other place.

Not scary! Hahaha but honestly this bar was awesome super clean and nice and had amenities we met the owner as we were driving back from Helen GA and needed to make an emergency potty break and he let us in even though he wasn’t open and discussed his dream and vision for the location in the future hands down we will forever make a point to stop into the thirsty turtle when we are in town! Check this place out!

What a surprise!! Have driven past here a few times, was intrigued by their sign, decided to stop in. Nothing "scary" here. Great selection of draft beers for my guy along with "girly" selections for me. Sandwich was exceptionally good, potato salad was fresh & delicious. Recommend you stop in if in the area. We'll be back!

Great lunch, wonderful beer selection, definitely put this little place on yourstop list when driving from Murphy to Turtletown or Teleco. Ben is a really nice guy and makes sure the few lunch selections are extra good.
Can’t wait to come back! Beers were amazing, great selection, and the chili was the best I have had in a long time!
