Applebee's Grill + Bar

If I could give this Applebee’s negative stars, I would. Me and my husband sat at the bar Saturday night hoping for a simple drink and a decent meal, and somehow even that was too much to ask. The bartender was absolutely terrible. She clearly had no idea how to make drinks—what we were served tasted nothing like what we ordered. I don’t know if she was guessing, experimenting, or just didn’t care, but it was not right at all.

The service was just as bad as the drinks. Long stretches of being ignored, no urgency, no basic customer service skills whatsoever. You could practically feel the indifference radiating from behind the bar. When she did finally acknowledge us, it felt like we were inconveniencing her by existing.

And let’s talk about the bar itself—because wow. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Sticky surfaces, crumbs, spills, and that grimy “this has been ignored for a while” vibe that immediately kills your appetite. Sitting there was uncomfortable and honestly kind of gross.

Between the poorly made drinks, horrible service, and filthy bar, the entire experience was a complete disaster. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences me and my husband have ever had. Do yourself a favor and skip this location entirely—there are frozen dinners that deliver better quality and service than this place did.

Service was absolutely terrible in every way, took 15 mins just to get me a receipt, will not be coming back needs better management as well, half the employees were in the back talking the whole time.

This was by far the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been to in my life. The tables were all visibly dirty, the floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in months, there was trash all over the seats, and the ceiling was falling in from water damage. The carbonation was not working, so I couldn't get a soda, my French onion soup was just soggy bread (absorbed all the soup before I got it) and some melted provolone cheese on top. The chicken wonton tacos were delicious, though.

The only saving grace to this experience was my server, I think her name was Taniaya. She was so friendly and helpful when I asked for her input on where to find some items in town I had been looking for.

I am usually someone who checks reviews before going somewhere, but I did not this time, otherwise I certainly would have went elsewhere.

Tried to bring my wife and son to dinner tonight. Saw there was 5 cars in the parking lot. Seemed like service should have been fast. After waiting for almost 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order we decided to take our business elsewhere. Not one person came by to say a word in almost 20 minutes.

Details - Service?? Were we to receive that after patiently waiting for 30min without even offerred water/drinks. We were given a menu & nothing more. There were plenty of employees & the restaurant was scares of maybe 4 other tables occupied.
Staff stood around in groups chatting. Even after trips to the restroom with only one stall of use, still no waitress. After the wait. Even after we, party of five decided to leave. There was no one at the entrance being she was standing in the back chatting with others since we were seated. I dropped menus off & took family to enjoy dinner at Zaxbys. Service there was great & very welcoming. In case this happens to anyone else.

Amaya The waitress at the Applebee in Union City Tennessee was an absolute sweetheart. She graded as a big smile absolutely adore her.

All 3 were pleasant & courteous!
The food was served in a timely manner & was hot & delicious.
We are visiting from Illinois & thoroughly enjoyed our experience here.

The food is ok and the service was good. We were traveling and stopped for lunch. It felt a little strange because there were only a few people there, where as I've usually found Applebee's to be popular. After our meal we used the restrooms. If I had seen the restroom first I would have left.

Bruh. The bartender quit in the middle of his shift, our server came to our table twice in 2 hours, and I had to ask another employee to get us boxes and then asked for the check about 15 min later. It was a mess. We only went because it was the only place open to eat when we got into town after a 5 hour drive.

Not only did I get up and leave but so did another person sitting at the bar. He already got his food and the bartender forgot about him so he left. I ordered to go and a beverage and never got the beverage, she actually forgot what I even ordered. WORST Applebee’s experience ever. I would not recommend this restaurant

Place was filled with thick smoke through out the whole resturant. We were told it was a ventilating issue. Burned our eyes and it made up cough. As the other customers complained too. Very very slow service. As customers walked out they say their eyes hurt due to the thick smoke. Not impressed. Not a healthy environment.
