The food was cold and took forever. Management seemed lost and the staff was overwhelmed.

I came in this morning and the place was disgusting. Food all over the floor spilled drinks in the gift shop. I asked to speak to manager and they just continued to stand around and do nothing. I waited an hour and a half to speak to a manager and they were no help at all so rude and very disrespectful.

Seems like they treat the staff poorly and they all seem very unhappy. When I worked at Cracker Barrel, it was a much happier environment. Last two times food took forever and was not good.

Ordered online. Most of what I ordered online they were out of. They have to find a way to sync items no longer available. Instead of calling and asking if I wanted anything else I had to wait another 45 min after my pick up time. Pointless to order ahead for pickup.

We always stop at this location on our way back from Florida, and we’ve always had the best service. This time we had another couple with us. We got seated right away and our server came right away to take our drink order. We ordered trout, breakfast, chicken tenders and meatloaf. The restaurant was not busy at all, but our food took almost 45 minutes to arrive. When the runner brought it out, she casually mentions that they were out of meatloaf, so three of us had our food, one had nothing. No one came to tell us right away there was no meatloaf. The runner said they were out all day. Our waiter came and said, “I didn’t know we were out of meatloaf.” So my friend had to sit there while we all ate and she waited for another meal. My husband’s Grandma’s Breakfast looked awful! There was maybe one egg scrambled, the two pieces of ham were really small and overcooked. He ordered pancakes but it came with no syrup. Our other friend ordered the chicken tenders meal with French fries. When ordered, he asked for honey mustard. Our server said he told the cook he needed an order of fries and the cook just looked at him and turned away. I asked for tarter sauce for my fish, catsup for the fries and syrup. We had to ask TWICE, our server kept forgetting. I also asked for the biscuits that were supposed to come with our meals and never brought to us. If this young man was a new server, he needs more training. When we went to pay, I asked the cashier for a receipt. She just shrugged her shoulders and said they were out of paper. To say the least, this was a very disappointing meal after a long day on the road.

I usually have a good experience here, but tonight was not so great. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which looks delicious on the menu. When we got our food, however, it did not look the same. Menu showed a red sauce covering the shrimp that was atop a good amount of grits. It looked nothing like the picture on the menu. The shrimp were plain and tasteless and there was not a hint of the red sauce on them nor on the small amount of grits that they brought us. There was a little sauce in the bottom of the pan however that was nowhere close to the color of sauce in the photo. It was more a runny grayish brown with chunks of something in it. I asked the waiter about it explaining the sauce was the reason I wanted to try the new item in the first place. He asked if I'd like some on the side for dipping, which I was hoping would save the meal. He came back saying that they are out of it. I then spoke to the manager on duty, letting her know my dissatisfaction with the meal. She said that I had gotten what I had ordered despite me pointing out that it looked nothing at all like the photo on the menu. I was so disgusted by the smoke that was obviously being blown up my derriere at that point that I forgot to even mention the tiny amount of grits that had also lacked flavor because the weak sauce missed them as well.

I love Cracker Barrel and we eat there quite a bit, but I noticed the portions for the same price are a bit smaller but the food is still wonderful. My girl last night was very distracted so filling drinks, etc. was a little by the wayside.

Cracker Barrel in White House, TN, offers a decent dining experience, though it’s not without its flaws. The atmosphere is warm and rustic, with the familiar old-fashioned decor that makes for a comfortable environment. The staff is generally friendly, but service can be hit-or-miss depending on the time of day and crowd size. The menu features classic Southern comfort food, with options like biscuits, meatloaf, and chicken and dumplings. While the food is usually good, it’s sometimes inconsistent—portions can vary, and on a few occasions, dishes haven’t been as hot or flavorful as expected. The country store adds a nice touch, offering unique gifts and snacks, but the overall experience feels a bit more average compared to other Cracker Barrel locations. If you’re looking for a reliable, no-frills meal, it works, but it’s not always a standout.

Kid-friendliness: Cracker Barrel in White House, TN, is generally a good choice for families with kids. The atmosphere is welcoming, with plenty of space for children to feel comfortable in the relaxed, rustic setting. The staff is friendly and patient with young diners, often offering coloring pages and crayons to keep kids entertained while they wait for their food. The kids’ menu has a variety of classic options like chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and pancakes, all served in reasonable portions for younger appetites. The restaurant also offers a small play area near the entrance, which can help keep children entertained while waiting for a table. However, the dining area can get crowded during peak times, so it might be a bit noisy for sensitive little ones. Overall, Cracker Barrel in White House is a solid option for families looking for a kid-friendly dining experience.

Most of my food was very good however, the pinto beans were undercooked cold and just had no flavor. My brother's bacon came and it was raw. They sent it back and they burnt it.
