Freebirds World Burrito

So disappointed! Me and my girls went out for a day of shopping and went for lunch at Free Birds which I typically love BUT… we were told that they were out of chicken and were not even discounted for it. Free Birds ain’t cheap for them to give you your bowl with no meat and not offer to cook or get more….CRAZY!!! Everything appeared old and the workers were not friendly or helpful. Skip this location if you choose Free Birds!

So I came in today a Saturday at about 1/2 I clock and it was dead. That should have been my five away but eh. I came in no one was at the front. A minute or two went by and someone came to the front walked past me and said someone would be with me in a second. Kept walking to where ever she was going. Then a guy came out about three minutes later the kitchen he was holding something heavy but said he'd be with me in a second. Finished doing what he was doing. A minute or so later finally asked me what I wanted (nicer than I just typed) but asked me I got a bowl. He told me the sizes I got a regular rice what kind of meat I didn't see until after the STEAK which is the most expensive on the menu was almost out. But he scooped the miniscule bit out I caught the portion after it was already scooped so make up for it I asked for more rice. I really didn't realize how much or little protein was actually in there until I just opened my food. I got an order of puny queso. Total was 16$ queso was fine definitely too small but the large I know is too big for the amount of chips you get. I also have a free queso on my account that wasn't applied. Oh well but the portion I got was really ridiculous especially considering you know as an employee that wasn't accurate portion. I don't even know why I stopped here. I tried this free birds once before years ago and thought I just had a bad experience cause I've never been back but since I was over there today I decided to give them a try. Won't be going back again. Wish I could snap a picture cause that's sad

Never again. We eat here regularly. At least once a week. And often 2-3 times a week. They have really botched the deal nights before but nothing beats this $5.99 burrito night. It is now 57 minutes past our pick up time and there is no end in sight. The flagrant disregard for their customers is shocking. This has nothing to do with the employees here, I’m sure they are equally frustrated. It’s freebirds as a whole. They have not figured out a way to have the app give a projected time based on current order information and it’s straight up impossible to cancel your order. I can’t cancel it on the app and I even tried calling as I was waiting in line…. My 4 year old is angry and frustrated, I’m angry and frustrated. I will never come here again. I was even able to type this whole negative review as I’m waiting in line. And now it’s over an hour wait. Again, these poor workers. This is all freebirds corporate. They know it’s an issue because it’s been that way with other bogos… but never as bad as this.

Holly (or Holli) was amazing!! Super sweet and made my nachos great with everything spread out! If you see a girl there with green hair you're in great hands!

Disappointed with the APP and lack of service in the restaurant at the Allen location.

First thing that made me mad was once I ordered on the app and clicked pay it automatically charged me over $4 for a tip when I did not see this option and I did not get prompted for this option it simply charged me 20% on a take out order that I have to go into the store and pick up. This is really a crappy automatic feature that should not be in the app as it feels like a scam to get more money out of you. Shame on Freebirds!

What put me over the top is when I went into the restaurant to get my too go order there was no designated shelf or place to pick up my order. There were 4 people in line and I just stood at the register while the 2 line workers helped people in line and the to go girl had her back to the restaurant the entire time. After the first couple rang up and paid I had to interrupt and ask if there is an area to pick up my order. She asked what the name was I told her and she turned around grabbed my bag and handed it to me. What is the point of ordering ahead of time if I have to stand in line and wait for everyone else to complete their order? Ridiculous system and should have a shelf or table by the register where people can grab it and go not have to wait 5 plus minutes and in line to pick up their food that is already ready!

Freebirds need to reevaluate their order a head of time system and their app. I feel cheated with the $4 plus automatic tip that I did not agree to and then to wait 5 plus min to get my food that was just sitting on the counter behind the register is not efficient and very inconvenient for the paying customer! I will not be coming back.

The food is bland. I ordered a monster steak burrito, they ran out of steak I waited for them to cook some. When it was ready, the steak was rare. The pinto beans were cold. Not the number 1 Texas burrito as the trash can said. Which is where my burrito ended up.

I’ve never had an issue at this location before, yesterday I came across raw chicken in my bowl, it was pretty gross. The young man who made my bowl was really kind, he he took a picture, stated that he wasn’t sure how to correct the issue and offered to refund my order. He was told by another young man that it would mess up the system trying to issue the refund on the register so he let me know that he would go back to the computer to process the refund. I never received the refund and this has unfortunately left a bad impression with me. Praying we don’t get sick as the whole family got chicken.

Ordered to go. They have a great menu and the team was quick to get order ready even though I was early on my end. Burrito was great but not a fan of the queso (I think Moe’s Southwest may be the only secret formula holder there). I had also ordered a salad which was PACKED, but unfortunately I could not enjoy it for lunch the next day because all the dressing and sauces were mixed in and wilted the salad. It’s possible I missed when ordering but that would be one space to improve - to go salad should have wet sauces and dressings on the side by default. Other than that great options and flavors.

Freebirds is by far the best "build your own burrito" place. Always fresh, tons of options. Highly recommend!

Light and bright atmosphere. Very clean. The drink selection is really good and so is the iced tea. The staff was wonderful and helpful during our visit. The food was very fresh and the prices are within reason :). I especially like that they offer white or dark meat chicken and low carb tortillas. Be warned…the brownies and cookies at the register look delicious!

Vegetarian options: They have a few types of beans and grilled vegetables are really good! Eating veg here would be easy.
