You will never find better homemade donuts than at Max's. This is one of those small non-chain restaurants where you can see people right behind the counter making them each and every day. The taste is unmatched, and Max's is the ONLY place where the simple glazed donut is raised to an entirely new level. Prices are reasonable, everything is ultra fresh, and the selection is superb, ranging from the classic donuts to jelly filled to cinnamon rolls with the circumference...
This is not sit down place. It's been around awhile so place is a little dated. Their donuts are great! There is a line in the morning. Husband loved it, he said that the donuts are similar to the ones he ate growing up
Shipley’s is superior to Max’s by a long shot! Apparently Max’s was great before they sold to new ownership, but I wish I had saved my $20 as I tossed everything I bought as it was pretty inedible.
