I never will go back to this place I order a large cabbage and a large macaroni &cheese the guy gave me a little over half of a container of cabbage and tried it with the macaroni and cheese and I said on no fill it up he you are trying to get it all I'm like dude I'm paying for a large not a half or small and to top it off they NEVER HAVE ENOUGH FOOD FOR THE DAY no greens no cornbread just nothing so rush more I'm DONE TRYING TO SUPPORT MY PEOPLE IN ARCOLA TEXAS
Yikes..why do they even have a menu? Second time here. First time it was good. This time it was hard to choose because they didn't have anything I wanted. I was is line so long, just for them to say no we don't have that 4 times. I picked out something for my uncle and I. The price is ridiculous for what you get. Food tasted wierd. I spent close to 40 bucks. I generally don't trip about prices if their service and food is good. I'm suprise they have been open this long.
My husband got their okras, cabbage, rice and chicken. Yes we’re kind of in a diet and that’s the best we could have asked for. The okras was to die for. Everything was absolutely delicious. My husband actually bit into the bones, the chicken was so tender! If you’re thinking about trying this place out. JUST DO IT!!
I ordered take today for lunch and the food was delicious. My entree was Turkey leg, cabbage and yams. Good serving portion for the price of $14 and desert peach cobbler $5. The owner was very professional and friendly. I will return to dine in with friends.
Food is on point, had the meat loaf with sweat potato and something else, can’t remember. Great customer service! I’ll be back ?
The Food Is Amazing Good Customer Service And Overall Great Experience I Will Definitely Be Back
I try to support black owned businesses but if this one stays in business another year, it’ll be a miracle. They don’t answer the phone so calling ahead is pointless. I went on Thursday to find that half the written menu for that day wasn't going to be served that day. I purchased a fried chicken plate with mac and cheese and okra. My chicken tasted dry as if it was rewarmed. I came back today to see if i could order the meal i desired from the previous day. (I come pretty early so there’s rarely a line and no way they should be sold out of anything.) What i saw made me walk out. It was the exact same food from the day before…just warmed up. How do i know. It was 20min after they opened and the pans were more than half gone and the exact as the day before.
We were once going every week because the food is delicious. We got spoiled food once and the manager was wonderful by making it up to us, but approximately 3 weeks ago, we again got spoiled macaroni and chicken which made us sick. We are no longer going to be customers and have taken out business to Mikkis soul food. Sorry, we tried to support black business.
Please back away from the sugar on the vegetables. Most people are trying to eat healthy and have natural taste and flavor. Nice place, people and menu. But back away from the sugar in my okra, green beans and cabbage. Thank you.

I order 4 plates. Fried chicken, fried porkchops, smothered porkchops, and beef tips. Also order tea cakes and pies. With the exception of the dessert items, all food was horribly cold and old. Gravy taste store bought. They are always out of 75% of the items featured in the menu. I worked this morning so I am really tired and decided to spend my money here. I feel bamboozled in a way because the food was not of quality. I should have just bit the bullet and made my own dinner because the meals we ordered were a waste. If you decide to eat here I will say if you can catch it in stock stick to the fried catfish and shrimp baskets. Nothing else is worth a dime spent.
The oxtails were good but hours of operation hours are inaccurate. Also it would be nice not to have to wait so long for my food. The staff is nice and I would go more often if they made those changes.
Chicken fell off the bones and that peach cobbler order extra crust ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I ordered from More Rush for the first time in May of this year. I ordered the smothered chicken entree for my 28 year old son who is a very selective eater. I wasn’t sure he would eat it but purchased it anyway. I ordered the smothered pork chops and sides for myself. Now as you can see, there is plenty of food large portions for only $14.99 for protein and two sides. My son, who is very selective with food he eats, ate the whole plate of smothered chicken. I sampled the chicken and thought it was good…very rich in flavor and seasoned just right to satisfy my taste buds for comfort soul food.My smothered pork chops and sides was just as delicious. I enjoy two servings out of that one plate. I have returned twice since my first visit in May. In fact, I no longer need to drive to “This Is It” soul food in Third Ward for my share of comfort soul food…More Rush is closer to home and I think, in my humble opinion, has moved to first place. It’s something about the rich flavor and gravy seasoned to perfection over fluffy rice and the tenderness of their protein that keeps me going back.. at least once a month..I have read some of their reviews. Many of the bad reviews center around delivery from Grub Hub…missing food, delivery time, etc.which has nothing to do with food quality. The one negative remark I offer is it takes forever to order and pay, then gotta wait for food order to be packaged…total time is about 30 min…and each time I patronized More Rush there was only 3 or 4 customers ahead of me… Gotta do better with time as people gotta get back to work.I have eaten from other soul food places as well..like Miki’s which I went once and never returned…and they are located closer to my home than More Rush.
I’ll start by saying food is good but it takes forever to get it! I Live very close and would eat there a lot more if service was better. I been there 3 times and every time I’m there on dine-in time instead of takeout-time. Today I walked out after waiting almost 30min for food I was told that was ready before i ordered!
