We used Jenny Layne bakery for our daughter's wedding, and everything was incredible, We had a beautiful geode-inspired wedding cake that both looked and tasted incredible, in addition to 5 other desserts that our guests devoured! Jenny Layne greatly exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend them!
My venue used this bakery for our wedding cake and desserts and I was soooo impressed and happy! The cake was honestly the best wedding cake we’ve ever had, we can’t stop talking about it. All the desserts we got were also delicious. I thought the cake was beautiful and simple which is exactly what I wanted. Absolutely loved the pearl details on the top tier! The brownies and chocolate chip cookies are seriously to die for. We will be visiting on our 1 year anniversary to celebrate with delicious cake again!
My husband and I chose this bakery for our wedding cake because it was included in our venue package. The cake itself was free, which was great, but we opted to pay extra ($260) for a custom palette knife design, thinking it would elevate the cake and make it a standout feature for our special day. Unfortunately, the result was far from what we expected.
The cake's design, which we had paid extra for, did not match the inspiration picture we provided. We were hoping for a beautifully textured, elegant palette knife design, but what we received was much more basic and didn't have the detail or polish we anticipated. It felt like the design was rushed, and given that we paid extra for this specific look, we were quite disappointed with how it turned out. The faux flowers that were added to the cake by my bridesmaid only elevated it so much, but the palette knife work on the cake itself was definitely disappointing.
Additionally, the buttercream-to-cake ratio was off. There seemed to be more buttercream than actual cake, which made the texture too heavy and overpowering. It wasn’t a balanced taste experience, and it took away from the overall enjoyment of the cake.
While we understand that not every detail can perfectly match an inspiration photo, the combination of the underwhelming design and excessive buttercream left us feeling let down. If you choose this bakery, I’d recommend being very clear about what’s included in the price and confirming your design expectations beforehand to avoid any surprises.
In the end, the cake didn’t live up to the quality we had hoped for, especially considering the additional cost for the design upgrade. It’s unfortunate, as we were looking forward to having a beautiful cake as part of our celebration.

My cake was from this amazing bakery. I was super nervous because all I had was an email chain in the planning of the cake. Oh man did they come through. Not only was the cake exactly what I asked for...like down to the micro-details but it tasted amazing!

Jenny Layne bakery just did my daughters wedding cake at a walters venue and of the 4 layers, each was raved about by the many guests! It was so delicious and equally stunning!

Both the red velvet grooms’ cake and strawberry champagne bridal cake were super yummy – we received numerous compliments on them both, and I know more than one person sought out multiple slices. Bridal cake was just pinker than the reference picture indicated, and the trees on the groom’s came out more corny kid’s cake than elegant forest.
***The Day of Wedding Cake Tasted AMAZING and looked GREAT!!! And there were plenty of cake pieces for all of our guests (We had about 80 guests in total)***We booked through Walters and Jenny Layne Bakery was the provided cake vendor. The planning experience with the bakery is decent, as now the actual wedding planning rep/manager will be the person to discuss the cake design, clients will no longer work directly with the bakery. There were 4 choices for the wedding cake/desserts: 4 - Tiered Wedding Cake; Traditional Duo; Modern Trio; Petite Cake & Desserts. We went with the very classic and quintessential smooth 4-tier cake, and the two flavors we chose were "The Most Popular" and "Chocolate Espresso (I believe now they changed it to Classic Chocolate)".We had the opportunities to go to several tastings in 2023 and we tried almost all the flavors and the various desserts the bakery offers. We were having some concerns as the cake flavors, although were good, the texture was hit or miss. In addition, the other desserts we tried were all alright, nothing spectacular. Due to those reason we were concern how the wedding cake would turn out and rightfully so!Amazingly, the cake for our wedding not only tasted AMAZING, but also looked so classy and elegant. In addition, there were PLENTY of cake SLICES for our guests (Each guest could easily have both flavors and some more! I personally attended weddings before where the cake was not even a bite!)I would give the bakery a high rating and say they have done an amazing job for our wedding! I did not get to see the bakery staff assemble the cascade floral, but it turned out looking stunning! Huge props to both The Jenny Layne Bakery and The Design Haus for our wedding cake!

Our wedding venue booked Jenny Layne Bakery, for our bakery. She does not disappoint! Laeticia made the taste testing so easy, it is already boxed up for you to bring home and enjoy. All the flavors are delicious, it was a tough choice to make. The designs we asked for turned out, the cakes tasted great. She even gives you a box to bring the top tier home in.

Worst cookie cake I have ever had. My granddaughters husband wanted a cookie cake for the wedding. This cookie cake they made was not eatable. So sad that Walters Wedding Venue makes you use this bakery. It is so disappointing!

Recommend you do multiple taste tests (not just what they look like) before you sign a contract. We considered JLB for our wedding and good thing we got 3 separate tastings. All were terrible; dry, tasteless and cheap ingredients. We will NOT choose JLB, my 5 year kid bakes better
