Black Rock Coffee Bar

I've been coming to to this location, and I loved the service, until this past year. Over the last nine months the diverse and helpful staff, has disappeared, and what has replaced them is a subpar staff. They are consistently getting my drink order wrong, and today the lid they placed on my coffee definitely did not fit, because my drink spilled all over the bagels I ordered. Now I have no breakfast and a mess to clean up. It makes me sad how far the service has fallen off here.

Do you guys ever leave a place and you’re like I really need to leave a review because this is so good — well that’s where I’m at. My coffee order is always perfect but I’m really coming back for the girls that work the window. Specifically Piper. Amazing personality, incredibly kind, the type to look for anyway she can go the extra mile for someone just because. Can someone get me her manager so I can go on!! Haha.

Coffee was fine, service was fine, atmosphere was fine. Value however is a different story. Normally I frequent Starbucks for their Nitro Cold Brew, they do not put ice in their coffee. Unfortunately the coffee I received this morning had about half a cup of ice in it...for the same price as Starbucks Nitro without ice. Had I known that I was going to get half the amount of coffee I would have specified no ice. From a value perspective, paying the same amount of coffee for less ice is silly. The cherry on top however is the fact that I have to agree to receive marketing emails if I want to send feedback directly to Black Rock, that's ridiculous. I'm not wanting a refund or anything like that, just be aware that you're offering less coffee for the same price as Starbucks, and don't make marketing a requirement, it's unnecessary.

I stopped in around 11ish on a weekday, it has a pretty lively feel. They have some artsy walls, some vibrant chairs & different seating options - small tables, large tables, high seating, counters, & couches. There is also space to sit outside, some vibrant chairs both in & out. There were only two other people there at the time so it was quiet, I imagine it might get a little loud when they are busier just due to the open space & acoustics. The place looks cool though, love the lights.

Staff was friendly, drive thru seemed consistent & others did stop by during my short time there. Even though it wasn't busy inside I was greeted promptly, the girl was super nice, & my drink came out pretty fast.

I ordered an iced sugar free Irish Cream latte. I am really happy that they have other sugar free flavors available other than just the basic vanilla or caramel. I got a large, it was a pretty good size & the price wasn't bad. I was a little disappointed they were sold out of their ham & cheese croissant so I didn't get a chance to try it. They do sell a variety of food & drinks, not just coffee, so there is something for everyone here.

Clean establishment, no issues with the service, seems like a great place to get together with friends. Give them a try!

Had to stop somewhere to work and as a Realtor®️ and sometimes we have to do that. I like this coffee ☕️ place. I had drip coffee, Shaken Tea (Black Tea/Raspberry), and a banana muffin. I will return!

So these one stars are not for the establishment but for the employee who opened yesterday September 8th. Bad attitude and awful coffee, I had to throw it out it was so bad. Any other time I get coffee it is fantastic.

Very polite staff. Decent drinks, not my favorite, but quite good for Texas coffee. I wanted to try their banana muffin as it was their only Gluten Free item, but they had ran out for the day and profusely apologized and got me a refund. Gracie, the server who I ordered with, was sweet and had a nice, short conversation with me while she got my refund in place and corrected the order.

FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP

My favorites are the iced caramel blondie and the chiller, the frozen fuel you can add any flavors (great for this texas heat). At the moment I've been ordering an iced matcha latte with oat milk and strawberry flavor TASTES AMAZING!!!

The drinks are great, lots of options but the tipping thing finally got to me.

I'm willing to pay for a stupid expensive drink from time to time. What I'm not ok is the pressure to tip $2 on a $7 thirty second drink. When they first opened I realized the system and paid until I figured, "I'll just bring cash. Ha, I gamed the system!" But then they taped the cash tip thing on the outside. I wasn't upset about it. It allows to throw in the change from a cash buy if you feel like above and beyond service happened. Completely reasonable. What wasn't reasonable was when I paid for my last drink the kid serving me dropped (what seemed like his own coins) coins in the cup and slightly shook the can to make more sound, tring to get me to tip him for bringing a $7 drink to the door. Not ok. I don't plan on coming back - I'll take my money to one of the other 3 overpriced drink places near here.
