Cake-Aholics Bakery

Went in person to order a two tier cake. I explained that I wanted exactly like the photo(without the sprinkles) with the same pastel colors. The cake turned out looking nothing like the photo. They also stated it will be ready at 12pm but when my husband when to pick it up at 2pm, he ended up waiting 20 minutes for it even though he was the only one at the store.

I texted them expressing my disappointment and stated that I have been buying a cake from them every year for the past 6 years. They said they would be happy to give me a refund if I returned the cake, however it was the day of the party and I had no other alternative but to use it. When I asked how this can be rectified, I received no response. They have lost a loyal customer.

This was three years ago, but… Our cake was so beautiful. The dessert bar was beautiful. The guest all loved it. It tasted great. We were treated so well be the staff. I still come to get dessert because the experience was so great and a core part of our wedding memories. Thank you!

Sent a photo of a birthday cake and they nailed it! Not only was the finished cake amazing but the cake itself tasted just as good as it looked. Got a devil’s food chocolate with salted caramel buttercream. 10/10 would recommend.

First of all, the order was supposed to be ready for pickup at 4pm. I call exactly at that time and they tell me it needs an extra 30mins. I called back at 5pm and they started saying how it’s “really busy on a Saturday” and they had to “spend more time” as I requested vanilla buttercream that doesn’t use vanilla extract due to it containing alcohol. How is the client supposed to know you’re very busy unless you COMMUNICATE with them? At 5pm they needed an extra 5-10mins. I was frustrated at this point but I waited for them to call me back informing me it’s ready but they didn’t 😁 I call back 5:30pm and the worker said “we just assumed you’d know it’s ready”.
I show up and the cake had no toppings but the broken huge pretzel pieces 😁 mind you this cake was $150 and an extra $10 for the “special buttercream”. I asked where are the other toppings I asked for (referencing the inspo pic I had sent them). They take the cake back & add the strawberries. I informed them it still doesn’t look like what I asked for 😁 they take it back AGAIN and add foam flowers and 3 Ferraro rocher chocolates. The numbers aren’t even proportional, aren’t the same size, the frosting doesn’t go around the curves, and it’s lopsided. No one took accountability for it and the worker had the audacity to say “we won’t charge you an extra fee for fixing it” as I was expected to pay $160 for a cake that had 3.5 broken pretzel pieces. You might think ok maybe it’ll at least taste good? Every bite crumbled apart before I was able to pick it up with a fork. They really managed to ruin a special occasion.

Absolutely the best cake I ever had in Texas.. from flavor well balanced sweetness, to design, price, Excellent customer service, close by from all areas of the Dallas/ Forth Worth Texas. Beautiful and clean shop, cheese cakes are absolutely DELICIOUS. My daughter loved it Soo much , frosting and even the fondue not overly sweet the design to the point.. only observation is the towers were not made of marshmallow or eatable it was cardboard and fondue around it . IT would haved made the price of the cake more worth it . I paid $210 for 8 ppl small cake .. I could have gave it 4 Stars but cake was Soo delicious that observation is a suggestion for future customer.. I will be ordering here from now on.. try it well worth it . Thank you my daughter loved her princess peach castle 🏰

When I called just a month before my wedding day asking for a specific and large wedding cake, they were so kind and made the 4-tiered cake exactly how I wanted. We had several calls, meetings, and emails back and forth and they were always willing to help any way they could. The cake turned out gorgeous and incredibly delicious and fluffy. We chose 3 different flavors. They delivered it in the heat to Fort Worth botanic Japanese gardens and the cake lasted for a few hours in the heat without melting.

My husband just gifted me the same exact cake for my 30th birthday and it's exactly how I remember it! They were so helpful to him as well and remembered our wedding, even a few years later. This is truly the best place in DFW for wedding cakes and other cakes.

Our wedding cake from Cake-Aholics was HEAVENLY and very reasonably priced! The tasting was lots of fun and it was hard to settle on two flavors because they were all so delicious. We settled on honey lavender and chocolate Khalua and got tons of compliments. The baker helped narrow down my bridal cake vision and it was absolutely gorgeous. We also got a groom’s cookie cake and 2 sheet cakes to serve our large reception. They delivered the cake in perfect condition. Communication was clear and kind. Highly recommend if you want a delicious, crowd-pleasing cake!

Totally delighted with the birthday cakes both the quality and flavor as the divine designs are always the compliments of the celebration for two years I do not change this pastry the service very effective and friendly👌🏻👏🏻

My [now] wife and I had been going over many bakeries looking for a cake.
A co worker mentioned for their wedding just earlier this year, they had come to Cake-aholics.
So we decided to try them out. We got a sampling and the cakes were very good. I'm not much of a cake person, but even I couldn't resist chowing down.
We confirmed which cakes we liked and decided to order our wedding cake.
We went with white chocolate raspberry for two tiers and carrot cake for another.

The cake turned out beautifully and they delivered on time with a stunning cake. We were so wrapped up and getting setup that we missed the delivery. I wanted to thank cake-aholics for such a fantastic cake. The wedding was a success and the cake was thoroughly enjoyed.
Even after a little mini-moon, the cake was still just as delicious.

The frosting is very good, not too sweet. I really like the raspberry vanilla cake!

I called in asking for a key lime flavored cake, i was told they couldn't do a cake but could do key lime flavor cupcakes so instead of driving to Dallas to a shop that said they had it available i came here ... When i picked up the cupcakes it was a vanilla flavored cupcake with a key lime favored icing. NOT what i asked for... And honestly feel like my money was stolen.

Matthew listens to your design vision and executes it flawlessly! My favorite cake flavor of his is snickerdoodle, but all the flavors I tried during the tasting were incredible. I love that he uses Italian meringue buttercream because it lightens the cake up so that you don’t have the heavy sweetness of traditional buttercream. Cakeaholics is my mother-in-law’s go-to bakery for many occasions, and Matthew’s team did an outstanding job with the cake for my bridal shower as well as both cakes for my wedding. Thank you Matthew for your consistently delicious bakes and your attention to detail!

This year I wasn't able to make my own birthday cake due to time restraints. I'm a home baker and a bit of a perfectionist, so I tend to make my cakes myself as a means of everything going as smoothly as possible! So I decided to search through bakeries near me the best of my ability that offered heart-shaped cakes that had frosting-work to my standard. I landed on this bakery, as they had cakes that seemed the prettiest.

The first thing I would like to say, is that the cake that I got was very pretty. They made good use of the reference image I sent and interpreted it in a very beautiful way. I spent $175 for this cake though, which had me a little confused as to why they added a weird stringy frosting detail in the inner part of the heart detailwork? It just seemed a little clumsy along the rest of the cake and also wasnt in the reference photo.

I ended up paying about $203 dollars with tip, which was a little annoying because I made one request that the border icing be a periwinkle blue. They instead gave me a cake that was more purple than the reference image. Mind you, it was a very pretty purple, I just was a little bummed because I spent so much money and particularly requested the cake be that shade because it matched my golden birthday dress. The only request I gave them for the cake they ignored when making it, so maybe be wary of that when ordering from here. If it were me who made the cake I would've offered it at the very least a small discount (even 5% or 10% would've been pretty reasonable to me) as it was not what I asked for and truly was a different color all together, somehow even more purple than the reference image that I sent.

This also lowkey was a very gross tasting cake. I don't know if it was the buttercream, if it was the strawberry cake itself, or what about it tasted off to me. I took a bite of it and got an overwhelming mouthful of lard and like 0% strawberry flavor. The cake itself lacks flavor, isn't very sweet, and the icing sort of tastes like eating Crisco. It coats your entire mouth and tastes very oily. I was almost in a bit of awe at how bad it tasted. None of my party guests finished their whole slice of cake including me, which is insane because I'm known to take second pieces. I've never had a cake like this before and I've been baking from scratch for 10+ years, and have worked in numerous bakeries. The meringue buttercream just really lacked depth, which is unfortunate because I had originally asked if the cake could be frosted in cream cheese frosting which they said they couldn't do for me.

Finally, when we went to pick up the cake, service was a little hectic. The staff there obviously very much thought the cake was pretty, which I agreed with. They were nice enough to me the second I picked up the cake but that couldn't have been said for the time I put in the order. They were a teeny bit rude but surprisingly the staff remembered my name when I came in. That was nice enough. Just unfortunately I think the money I spent was just not adequate for the service, food, and product I recieved.
