Gilberto’s Taco Shop #2

I’m late to make this review. I normally love this place so much. I’m not much of a fast food person but I’d almost always be willing to get food here because it’s been so good and the portions are well worth the money. That is, until September 3rd or 4th, I can’t completely remember. I got the same food I get every single time, the 2 burritos with a side of rice and beans, but when I dug into my food this time I could tell something was off. The rice and beans were fine, a little less flavor than normal but still fine, but the beef in the burritos had a weird hint of a flavor to it and hard bits mixed in the meat. That night I had food poisoning that lasted about 3 days. I don’t know if management was different or something that day when I ordered food but whatever it was, it is NOT good for Gilberto’s. I haven’t gone back since, which I‘m upset about because I really did love their burritos before, I’d even say they were my favorite. Sadly, that 1 bad experience really ruined things for me.

I absolutely love this place, i always take my friends here for some good birria. Food is amazing, service is amazing (even after I come close to closing time). Everything tastes and feels authentic. Highly recommend if you love mexican food.

Kinda quiet tonite, but that didnt stop the friendly service at the register or the homie who brought out the food as it was ready(awesome). The restaurant is decorated great and unique to the heritage. Food portions are large, tastes great, look forward to returning. Check this place out for real.

Typical I try to never leave bad reviews! And I actually eat here a lot . But yesterday I came and ordered my normal. A order of birra taco usually there always fresh but yesterday it seem like they had given me old taco as if someone had order and never came to pick them up. They were dry the cheese was hard and there was hardly any birra meat in them. When I called today she tired to tell me to bring the food all the way back lol I have Never heard of this! I’ve only had an issue 1 time out of all the times I’ve eaten here! ( which is well over 20/30x now) and all I did was call and she took my name down and told me I could come the next day to get it remade. Why would I drive 20 mins back in the opposite direction with bad food knowing that by the time I get there they’ll probably be closed because I ordered around 9:30/10 and I live 20 mins away! An I wasn’t going to spend another 40 mins driving there an back plus waiting for them to remake it…Terrible do better!

This location is one I have been too several times, but I prefer Abram location.Long story short 9-ll purchased usual Birria tacos for the request if the bday girl living them. Mind you never had an issue but for the almost $50 I spent for 12 of them . They was made horrible meat was only at the tip of the taco as if just threw them together, omg the consume thickend so fast as if I left a pan of fried bacon grease overnight. Not acceptable. May need to look elsewhere lots of places selling these as well. I don't mind paying but expect what I pay for.

I wanna preface with the fact I’m a borderline regular here. My girlfriend and I came here during lunch hour, around 12:00pm. Her and I come here very often, but usually during the evening, more around 6-8:00pm, and the food we receive is great. Today is a different case. We understand it’s during the busy lunch rush; however, we would expect the same quality of food as we always get. Our burritos were lacking the usual amount of beef and flavor, and it was noticeably smaller as well. In addition, the shredded cheese was unmelted and cold like it just came out of the refrigerator. We expected the same great food we always get, but we got less than that.

Sweet workers cool place but terrible burritos and street tacos greasy, no flavor.

Food is ok but not for the prices they charge. $5 for a large fountain drink, dang they tax you over here.

0 out of 10 - we basically paid $30 for a taco salad that was basically salt and lettuce the meat didn’t have any flavor besides the salt like no other seasoning was used. The tacos were fye tho. But I won’t be eating here a second time. The lady at the drive through window was nice and had manners that’s the least I can say.
