Definitely my new favorite bar in Arlington, went to grab a Guinness and will be back many more times. The burger was great, football on the TV, darts on the wall. What more could you ask for?

I'm honestly a little surprised by the recent poor reviews. I found the experience to be the opposite to be honest. Our server was friendly and very helpful when we were picking out our meals. Please keep in mind this is a super laid back bar, filled with lots of well worn wood, memorabilia etc. We came here after a recommendation from our Yelp CM Kendall, since we were jonesing for a good burger. It definitely hit the spot, the burger was hot, juicy and every so well seasoned. The french fries were unusual but were so good, I think it's best experienced yourself...kind of like curly steak fries. Service was nice, food was excellent with a cold Guinness. I would gladly come back for a delicious burger.

They used to have great burgers and great fish & chips. My wife and I had not been there for a few months (since the ownership change) and stopped in for an early dinner. We both ordered the fish & chips and were very disappointed. The fish appeared to be something that you would get from the local Walmart, and run through a microwave. The chips were not much better, and everything was 'warm' at best. I ate everything (I was hungry) but we won't be going back - even though we pass by 3-4 times per week. I'm sorry to say that Bentley's is no longer one of our 'go-to' places.

We landed here at Bentley's Pub on a whim and are so happy we did! Patty is AMAZING! Patty is personable and super sweet. Her hospitality and bartending skills blew us away - ask her to make you a margarita - it was DELISH! We love the food - quality ingredients - every bite was fantastic. We'll definitely be back to visit and eat here again!

Gone to UTA for 4 years, and had never been to JR Bentleys till now. I have really missed out. Welcomed right when I came in and helped immediately by Amber, who is very kind and cool. Good drinks, including the 99 banana shot seltzer drink she just came up with and let me sample! Good atmosphere, even for hanging out at 3pm after class.

We ventured out to try some new places this week. J.R. Bentleys had been on our List for a while so we decided to give it a shot I love the whole feeling of the building the decor is great it's all dark wood, hardwood floors, clean and shiny. They do a trivia night on Tuesdays. The bartender was the only person there serving as a waitress and a bartender and she kicked some booty! She was flying everywhere and nobody had to wait for anything she was absolutely incredible. I loved my sandwich and fries (they are twisty and cute) I got the Pepé Le Pew. It had such a good variety of flavors in every bite. My Hubs got the Santa Fe Sunrise burger and didn't love it as much as he wanted to. He said it needed some type of sauce on it. They serve it dry. We will be back! Hopefully for trivia night

Let's help them get it together !!! Offer them suggestions - those of us who know F&B and the Hospitality Industry. This old house started out as a restaurant finished out by a recently graduated Architecture student at UTA. It was where the "IN Crowd" went daily !! It was called Matches. This was back when people still smoked. To work there as a Bartender you had to be able to strike a match out of a match book, side it down (throw it) to the other end of the bar, have it stop in front of the customer getting out cigarette just to work there. If you could pay that much 'attention to detail' there you kept your job !!!

Went Monday evening to try out the new menu and 3 of us really enjoyed the Hello McFly sandwich, fish & chips, and John Rambo sandwich and various cocktails, the onion rings were panko-type rather than the photos I had seen of the other kind of batter so some of us were happier than others ? Our server Penny (man alive, I hope I'm remembering her name correctly!) was awesome. Lovely experience. Exceptionally clean & tidy. Appreciated the bottled hot sauces. Recorded music could be slightly less loud for better conversation, but this is a general issue in restaurants and we didn't ask anyone to do anything about it. Will certainly be back!

Used to come here while in school at UTA. They had the best burgers back then. I've been here a few times since the remodel and the menu was very similar. They have a new menu now and the burgers aren't what they used to be, which was disappointing. They weren't terrible, but not worth coming here for. I don't drink anymore so the nostalgia and menu are what brings me back. Don't think nostalgia alone can bring me back. Nice atmosphere and great service, tho. Love what they've done with the place. Used to feel like a dungeon.

Let me start by saying, I hate to write a bad review for any establishment, but especially a local, small business like J.R. Bentley’s. Unfortunately, the experience I had this evening warrants some feedback. My partner and I went to J.R. Bentley’s to participate in their Tuesday trivia night. We were greeted at the door, but after seating ourselves, we waited well over ten minutes for a server to greet us. Finally, I went to the bar to ask for water, when a waitress appeared and asked us if we had been taken care of. She then brought us waters, and I asked her a question regarding the ingredients of an item on the menu, as I have food allergies. She returned with an apathetic “they come frozen, there’s no way of knowing.” Now, I understand it’s difficult to accommodate a guest with food allergies, but I have visited other restaurants whose servers were able to read the ingredients of a frozen food item directly from the box. After that, we did not see her for about fifteen minutes. Again, I approached the bar, menu in hand, hoping to place my partner and I’s food order with anyone who would help us. A different waitress asked us, again, if we had been helped. She then took our orders, and our food was delivered in a fair amount of time. After we had our food though, again, she did not return to our table to check on us or refill our waters. For the third time, I went to the bar, hoping for a refill on our waters. The bartender seemed frustrated that he had to tend to us, but gave us our waters, and I sat back down. Our second waitress came back with the check, one check, and did not ask if we would be splitting it or paying together. When we asked her to split it, she returned with our cards saying that she had mistakenly ran our cards for another person’s order, but it shouldn’t have charged us. I mean, wow, right? I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt after the first blunder, but candidly, the service was very poor, and most of the staff seemed apathetic towards our needs. I’m unsure if that is because we were the youngest people in there, or maybe we just caught them on an off day, but the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. As an Arlington local, I am sorry to have to give such bitter critiques.

The Heisenberg fries were very tasty! They had the perfect amount of hatch green Chile, without the heat. We enjoyed Guinness draft as well.Wait staff was very nice and attentive. We will be coming back.

This pub used to be really great with delicious English pub food and great service, but recently the entire menu changed to overpriced burgers and salads. And it doesn't even come with fries. The shepherds pie, meatloaf, chips, and stew are no longer on the menu and it no longer has a 'pub' vibe.

We really used to love coming here but since new management took over, it's gone down hill in a bad way. The food was awesome (Shepards pie, stew, meatloaf) but now it's overprice small burgers and salads... not what I would call pub food. Very sad JR Bentley's changed for the worst.

Came for trivia night and loved it! If I lived in Dallas, I'd be a regular. Service was astonishingly patient and good humored. My friend asked the bar for an off-menu cocktail and now it may get added. My reuben was altered to be vegetarian and tho it may not pop up on the menu, I was really satisfied (kimchi, cheese and mushrooms works!) And the sweet potato wedges w/cheese and guac - ridic. Bought them for the table and mostly polished them off myself. Not ashamed. This place was a perfect combo of service, fun and quality eats. Can't wait to visit again!
