I usually order from Jamaica Gates 2–3 times a month, and the oxtails are what I order most often. Unfortunately, today’s order was very disappointing. After spending $25, all I received was mostly bones, with very little meat—and what was there was tough.
With how expensive food is these days, it’s frustrating when the quality isn’t there. Whoever prepared the dish also clearly knew they scooped up mostly bones over rice. That’s not acceptable.
As a consistent customer, this was truly a waste of both time and money. Jamaica Gates, please do better.

First time dining there and I surely going back. I'm from New Jersey and I was visiting family in Dallas. I searched for a Jamaican restaurant and Google took me there. I was not disappointed. This place reminded me of Jamaica. I love it, love it, love it.

Very slow service and most of the female wait staff is very rude! Will never come here again!

I’ve been coming here off and on over the past 5 years or so. Never had a bad experience. Service is always cool. This time, I ordered my food and it came out within 3 minutes. Not hot or fresh. Even my beef patty was lukewarm. I ate the beef patty, one chicken leg, some rice and peas along with some cabbage. About an hour later, I had diarrhea along with the urge to vomit. It was the ONLY food I had in hours. It really turned me off. Especially when the plate was $19 but super small. The portion sizes and quality had gone down. I hope they fix this.

The food is good, but the service is bad. Staff don't greet you when you walk in. They walk pass you until they feel like they want to speak or help you.

Been a while since we've been to Jamaica Gates but had a taste for it and they did not disappoint. Was in the mood for everything and was pleased to see they had an entree that featured small servings of the curry goat, the oxtails, curry shrimp and the stewed chicken. It was hot and tasty. We added a pattie and also tried the refreshing Jamaican lemonade. Great food and great vibes.

Tonight was my first time trying this Jamaican Restaurant. The food was good. They gave you a lot, but be prepared for some spice. If you know, you know. I tried the Kingston Trio plus the Rum Punch.
Food was good but they didn't have rice and peas and teyput the meat on the two sides section instead of big open side; and the to go order box is the smallest I've seen! 😂 😂 the young waitress was kind though. Not too friendly atmosphere. Overall l give a 5-6 out of ten.
Great service and good food!
Bigger portions of meat. Not just rice is plentiful
The Oxtails oh my, a must try!!
