That’s really disappointing to hear. Finding mold in your food completely undermines the sense of trust you expect when dining out. It says a lot about the restaurant’s attention to detail and the standards they’re keeping in the kitchen. On top of that, the way the situation was handled clearly didn’t make you feel valued as a customer. Experiences like this can really ruin a place for you, and it’s understandable that you’d walk away feeling let down. Restaurants need to prioritize both food safety and how they respond when something goes wrong.
I was really disappointed with my experience here. While eating, I found mold on a grape in my dish—something that should never happen in any restaurant. Mistakes can happen, but how a place responds matters.
When I told the staff, they offered me only $2 off the bill. Honestly, that felt more offensive than helpful. It made the situation feel minimized, like a moldy item in my food wasn’t a big deal. A more genuine apology or a reasonable adjustment would’ve shown they take their customers and food safety seriously.
Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste both literally and figuratively, and I don’t see myself returning.

I was excited to eat here but once I entered the smell of the restaurant didn’t sit well with me. It smelled like mop water. I was willing to let that go until I seen 2+ flies flying around and one landing on me and that was my last straw. So I decided to leave. The food has good reviews and that’s why I stayed but after that I couldn’t accept eating there anymore.
This spot is AWESOME!!! My first time here from San Antonio. Waitress was Mary. She suggested the best grits bowl ever. Thank you sooooo much. I will be back

I ordered avocado toast from Lonestar via DoorDash and the avocado looks so old and the toast is not even barely toasted. I took one bite of the egg and couldn’t eat anymore it was cold and tasted so bland. The food was not edible.
Country fried steak & eggs with grits & bacon was decent.
