I moved here from Michigan some years back, and there's a Shogun in Michigan. It's a preferred hot spot. When I saw this Shogun location, I was excited and had to try it because I've come to love Mr Hibachi in Arlington. I was disappointed with my food today. It was absolutely nothing remotely close to Hibachi food. I had the vegetable Hibachi, and I can't understand how that was nasty. It just tasted nothing like teriyaki was on it. The fried rice was pain, and the vegetables were overcooked. I'm saddened by this visit and it was carry-out before work so I couldn't return it.

I enjoyed the ambiance as it was quiet ( there was soft music & tv ) , very clean , and the option for bottled drinks instead of fountain drinks .

Ordered to go. Shrimp tempura was good. However the nigiris 🍣(sushi: fish on top of rice) weren’t good. Fish (red snapper and tuna) tasted old and rough. They didn’t taste fresh which was very disappointing. Red snapper nigiri was decent. Serving size is bigger here though. If you are into quantity over quality, this would be it.
:(…Was excited to try this place. Maybe the rolls are better than the nigiris hence the high rating for this place.

An unusual setup for sushi and hibachi: it seems to be more about you enjoying your company and the food and less about putting on a show of the food prep and cooking.
We started with Tempura Shrimp and veggies, then 4 house special sushi rolls. Very tasty.
Service was great, and they timed the food well so we never felt rushed.
