Stop all the praise about the greasy food! It ain't all that but it's a heart attack waiting to happen.I spent $74 to go for the first and last time. Should have followed my first mind and got Spring Creek barbecue ??‍♂️

Go early as they run out of things… which is typical for BBQ… but also for the Ethiopian food. Delish- both meat eaters and non- meat people were pleased. The biscuits were the best ever- extremely light. Brisket terrific.

Ok so I’ll tell you the good stuff first. The food here was AMAZING!! I can totally see why they were on the NYT top 25 new restaurants. It was interesting and creative and everything I’m looking for in a restaurant. We got the platter for 4 and it was the perfect way to try many different things. But the service was so disappointing. I am a bartender and I have been in the industry for 25 years. I am very hesitant to write a negative review anywhere. We have never been here before so I didn’t know the situation. I thought maybe they were still very busy/popular and we may need a reservation. I went online and saw that there was a reservation option, so that’s what I did. There are reservation times through 8pm on OpenTable. I neglected to check their hours, mostly bc I assumed they’d be open until at least 9pm on the weekend and bc they offered a 7:30 reservation so that’s what I booked. Spoiler…..They close at 8. There were at least 5-6 other tables when we walked in, but we were rushed through the entire meal. Told they were completely out of ice. The waiter and everyone else we encountered seemed blatantly annoyed that we were there. We were missing food listed on the menu on our plates (they brought out one thing, but pretty sure other things were missing) we asked the waiter what everything was (it’s Ethiopian, so we had no idea) we were given a vague “ummm, I don’t really know”, which was kinda weird. I don’t know, it just over all felt very like “get these aholes outta here.” I would never in a million years knowingly go to a restaurant that was closing in 30min, But again I just went by the reservation times offered. I’ve been waiting to try this place for ages bc my husband love’s Ethiopian and BBQ, so it was perfect for his birthday. I wanted so badly to love this place. Like I said the food was so good, but they need to fix the reservation thing if their going to be so annoyed when people book one that is offered close to closing time.

Update: Even though I paid cash and got a cash discount, the receipt shows I was charged a card processing fee!Injera nachos, where have you been all my life? It's the guilty pleasure I didn't know I needed. For the record, I love African food, especially Ethiopian, and have been to dozens of African restaurants all over the country. But I've never had fusion food quite like this.I got the injera nachos with pulled pork and I wasn't sure how the Ethiopian and American cheeses would play together but it was delicious. I was also uncertain how the "nachos" would come out but they were crisp and addictive. The berbere mac and cheese was also good. Like others I prefer elbows but I don't hate on shells. At least they weren't penne and cheese or rotini and cheese. That's a capital offense, lol.The only hiccup was that the brisket sambusa was cold in the middle. I didn't discover that until I had eaten half of it, so I didn't try to send it back.Berbere spice Texas sheet cake tastes like a gingerbread or Christmas or pumpkin spice or otherwise winter-spiced cake. You just pick the cake from what's out next to the register. I was also curious about sweet potato pie with Ethiopian spices but didn't see it out.Service was friendly and when they forgot an item they rectified it right away. I tipped extra (paying cash to save 3% there isn't a mechanism to add a tip to the bill but they have a tip jar). The restaurant is big and clean and everything looks pretty new. When you walk in there are menus right by the door which encourages a bit of a backup at the door when it's busy. I didn't use the restroom and restrooms are often where cleanliness falls down in food service.

Great food and atmosphere. My cousin and I tried this for lunch and had a great time. His first time trying injera/ Ethiopian and my first Tex fusion. We had the Tex-Ethiopian Platter for 2 with beef/lamb. The portions definitely held value, again, the food was amazing.

I finally tried this Tx-Ethiopia restaurant in Arlington. We had to wait about 30 minutes before we got our order so if you visiting the restaurant on weekends, I recommend making reservations and even ordering online ahead of time. The vegetarian option and pork ribs was great. I wasn’t happy about the meat combo we had but not everything is perfect.I like how clean the restaurant was and the atmosphere was great.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian plate is a good size food and comes with multiple options.

Really friendly staff. This was our first time here and we were given great suggestions on what to order. The food is out of this world. This has been the most interesting mix of flavors I've had in a long time with the mix of excellent Texas BBQ and Ethiopian spices and preparations. We just went for it and got the Tex-Ethiopian platter which had a huge variety and 4 sides. The doro wat (stewed chicken and hard boiled eggs) was a favorite! And the injera (spongy bread) was so delicious having soaked up the flavor. Fried okra is breaded and nice and crispy. The berbere mac and cheese is highly recommended to try! This was certainly a highlight of our trip.

An mouth-watering fusion of Texas BBQ and Ethiopian cuisine. The ribs were exquisite. Our vegan friend loved the vegan options available. Highly recommended! I've traveled the world and never tried anything like it.Vegetarian options: Vegan options include deliciously spiced lentils, collard greens, and cabbage with carrots.Parking: In a commercial strip mall with a large surface parking lot.

Eating this food was a spiritual experience. So damn good. Can’t recommend it enough. Bring along some friends so you can order the platter and sample their incredible sides, especially the lentils and greens. Their sheet cake with Berber spice can’t be missed either. Also loved the Ethiopian music videos they had playing in the background!Thank you for the incredible food!

I Love Ethiopian food, and of course Bar-b-q so this was a treat for the senses. The beef Firfir was an amazing assault on the taste buds, the Injira nachos amazing, and then Tex-Ethiopian platter was a mouth full! Highly recommend
