The food is ok, but they are rude in here. I felt like we were not wanted or something. The woman side eyed my husband when he ordered Lengua… he’s Mexican, but even if he wasn’t, it shouldn’t matter or be a joke to you that someone wants to patron your business. We felt uncomfortable here and won’t be back for that reason.

I’ve been going to Lucy’s for years, and one of the best parts is that it still feels the same in all the right ways. It’s been the same family running the place for as long as I can remember, and that consistency shows in the food, the service, and the overall vibe.
I pretty much get one thing every time I come here... the carne asada burrito, and it’s always great. It beats the big chain competitors by a long shot. If Lucy’s is open, I can’t even consider Chipotle as an option.
They’ve got a bunch of other items on the menu that I see people ordering, and it all looks solid. But for me, Lucy’s is a burrito mission. They do serve breakfast before 11am, and I’ve had their breakfast burrito before too—also excellent.
There’s a drive-thru, but I always go inside. The setup is simple and minimal, not really built for hanging out for a long sit-down meal—and that’s actually perfect. It’s clearly designed for quick, counter-serve meals done right, and it nails that lane.
Lucy’s has been a favorite for years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I’ll keep coming back for years to come.

Tried Lucy’s for lunch. Ordered asada quesadilla. Was surprised it didn’t include pico or salsa. I asked the unfriendly lady if they had pico, she turned around & put diced onions, diced tomatoes, & peppers on the plate (not exactly pico de gallo). The quesadilla was very good: meet was tasty & edible, tortillas were just right. Will return & ask if they can cook it with pico, & include cilantro. Dining inside was not enjoyable because the TV was blaring some murder documentary. Will wait for a warmer day so I can dine outside. Hopefully I will be greeted & served by a friendlier team member.
When ever we need a taco fix, we head straight for Lucy’s!

The owners sister is really rude towards Latino women, she needs to work on her people skills! She's rude, don't know why she's there... Seems like she doesn't like working there. Everytime I go this happens. 😠 Doesn't greet, ignores what I say, and doesn't say ty! Cook is the best though...

Rude and poor customer service
I ordered for delivery via DoorDash. The food is good. It has a homemade taste to it, which is found at the best Mexican restaurants. I ordered a chicken burrito with a side of rice. The prices are pretty reasonable, which is appreciated taking the current state of our economy into account. It's a decently sized burrito. You get what you paid for. The chicken and rice aren’t heavily seasoned, but you can still taste the seasonings used. I just wish there was an option to add more veggies to the burrito to make up for the lack of flavor.

My husband and I planned to come in about an hour before closing. Out of respect, we called ahead to ask if BYOB was allowed. The cook kindly answered and said he would ask the owner and to call back in five minutes. When we called back, the landline had been completely shut off. No big deal, we figured it might’ve been a TABC-related policy.
When we arrived about 10 minutes later, there was no one else in the restaurant, yet the owner greeted us with noticeably passive aggressive energy. She was short, cold, and came across as irritated as if she were having a bad day and chose to take it out on us. My husband couldn’t have been more polite and gracious, but her demeanor remained off-putting. It was disappointing, especially from someone representing the business.
It was so uncomfortable that we chose to wait in the car rather than stay inside. When we returned to pick up our food, her energy had shifted completely — she was suddenly more forthcoming, almost as if she regretted how she initially treated us. Unfortunately, by that point, the damage had been done.
The only reason this review isn’t one star is because of the cook!! He was kind both over the phone and in person — and because the food was absolutely amazing. We were genuinely impressed with the flavors and portions.
That said, we won’t be returning. There are plenty of great taco spots around, and next time we’ll take our business down the road there’s plenty of taco places not even 5 minutes away, where we know we’ll be treated with respect from the start.

I’ve eaten food from this place multiple times and it’s honestly good. However, in my recent visits the food has gotten worse and worse. Yesterday specifically I bought tortas just to find out they were burnt. The bread was burnt for an every single one of the tortas and the fries were as if they were made the day before. I believe it’s important to mention that this is not the first time that this happens because I know that mistakes can happen, but multiple time it’s just unacceptable. It’s a shame that such things are happening just for their negligence.
I stopped by Lucy’s Taco Shop today and ordered the carne asada fries. While I was waiting, I noticed the burritos looked pretty good —but when I got home and opened my order, I was seriously disappointed. The avocado on my fries was clearly spoiled—brown and rotted, which shows a complete disregard for food quality. If a business is willing to serve food in that condition, it raises serious concerns about their standards overall. It makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen and how much care is really going into their food preparation. Definitely not a good sign for food safety or hygiene.
Got a taco plate, carne asada burrito and prder of carne fries.
First time I've EVER had Mexican food with no seasoning. Its like a British person made it.
The carne fries were $13 and it was the smallest order ever. The foam plate wasn't even hafl way full. But that's OK, the CAM CHEESE made them soggy amd inedible anyway.
Let down and won't be back.
