I could not agree more with Jennifer! This is from an article about the construction on 380 that is too little too late by TXDoTs own admission.
Support local business!
From the article:
Along the stretch of road sits the Starwood Cafe in Aubrey. Jennifer Jackson is the manager of the Cafe and says the construction has slowed down business over the last several months.
"Who can make it through another year of this," said Jackson. "It's like Texas just builds apartment buildings everywhere and housing developments everywhere and then decides to fix the roads after," she said.
I always like to dine local and have been going here with my family for about 5 years now. It was amazing at the beginning but now every time I go the experience continues to diminish. Service has been mediocre at best. The diner has been dirty/ dusty every time I've gone this year including the seating, windows, and floors. I used to really enjoy the egg breakfast due to the freshness in the food but these days the freshness doesn't seem to be there. Not sure what has happened.

I used to be a regular at Starwood Cafe and even left a glowing 5-star review earlier this year because it was such a positive and welcoming place to dine. The food was great, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. However, after my experience this past weekend, I’m sad to say that things have gone downhill.
When my husband and I came in for breakfast, the vibe was completely different. The atmosphere felt depressing, and the food didn’t taste fresh at all. From the moment we walked in, it seemed like the waitress didn’t want to be there. You could see it in her face, and the energy just felt unwelcoming.
I’m not sure what happened, but this place was on the rise with great food and service, and now it feels like it’s going backward. Sadly, I won’t be returning. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere where we feel appreciated and welcomed.

The food was good and portions were large. Service was very slow. They were short staffed in the kitchen. I had Eggs Benedict and the texture of the English muffin was a bit tough and chewy. The overall flavor was good. The crepes were good and very pretty visually. They were very busy and had a line. I might try take away next time

We should have walked out when we saw there was not a single person in there at dinner time, but we didn't. Lady was nice enough, just didn't understand or hear well. Food was terrible! Cheese on the sandwich was slimy and gritty. Brisket was jerky. Fries were over done. Pancakes were from the morning.... It was awful. Even the iced tea was terrible. 71 bucks for a family of 4 and all we got was a stomach ache!

Couldn't get any service. It appeared that only one person was working and they were busy taking another customer's order. (Not their fault). High school boys were running in and rushing to the kitchen, nearly bumping my wife.
A homeless guy was laying down on the bench at the entrance. The phone was ringing off the hook! This is a huge step down from their Denton location. Maybe the good ol boy system is bringing this location down???

My husband and I just found this place on Saturday and loved it so much that we came back the next morning! Amazing food, I’m full but find myself still eating because of the taste. Service is so friendly, fast and Jennifer made the best Carmel Latte that I have had in my life! Needless to say definitely recommend this place!

Very outdated and dingy place. The hostess seems like she would better suited for back of house as she was not friendly, couldn’t be bothered to put her long hair up, and did very little to promote the place. Food was okay though and menu was a little different which was nice!
