I’m posting this to inform other customers—especially anyone with dietary restrictions or medical concerns—about an important issue with Sushi Bashi’s ingredient transparency and customer service.

On December 10, 2025, I ordered two Bulgogi bowls by phone for takeout. When I got home, I discovered both bowls were topped with spicy mayo, even though spicy mayo is NOT listed anywhere in the menu’s description of this dish. This omission is unacceptable, especially for customers who cannot consume spicy ingredients for medical reasons, like my family.

When I called the restaurant to report the issue, the staff checked the menu and confirmed the same thing I observed: the ingredient is not listed at all. Failing to disclose ingredients that can affect health or dietary restrictions is not just poor service—it is a violation of basic consumer protection standards. Customers have the right to know what they are being served.

Despite this clear omission, I was told there is a “no refund” policy. This policy was not disclosed on the receipt, not communicated during ordering, and does not override the legal requirement to accurately describe food products. A no-refund policy does not apply when a restaurant serves food containing undisclosed ingredients.

After pushing for a resolution, the staff agreed to remake the food. I returned the original order, but the remake was extremely poor quality—hard, old-tasting rice and food that still wasn’t edible. At that point, I had paid $28.04 for meals we could not safely or reasonably consume.

Customers should be aware of the following:
Restaurants must list key ingredients, including spicy components.

Undisclosed ingredients that affect health or dietary restrictions are considered misrepresentation.

Consumers are legally protected, regardless of a business claiming “no refunds.”

You are entitled to a refund when food is not as described or is unfit to eat.

I am sharing this experience so other customers know their rights and can make informed decisions. I strongly encourage Sushi Bashi to update their menu descriptions and improve the handling of legitimate customer concerns.

First, this is not our first time eating here, have several times. Each time now has gotten worse and worse. Last time, I paid for extra sauces and never got them. And half the Bulgogi meat was tendons and fat. Same for this time, most of the meat (which wasn’t much) was tendons and fat, over half the bowl was rice, not much else. We are paying for a whole meal and getting mostly rice. Also, service was slow, I can understand being busy, but order said ready in 15 mins, my husband got there around that time and still had to wait at least another 15 mins.
Disappointed because we did so love them.

I usually order poke bowl and rice bowls. The food layouts look good, but is it necessary to put sooooo much sugar in a rice dish?? I had to stop and drink some water to ease the sickly sweet taste every time. The ingredients are fresh and good, to be fair. I just want it to be a little healthier.

The staff here is so rude. This particular girl she’s black and she literally is rolling her eyes while taking my order and being annoyed at me for ordering. It’s such an uncomfortable feeling because attitudes like this with the wrong person can go left. I don’t have to come here anymore to be damn bear insulted for spending my own money

The tornado roll and monkey brains were delicious. However, my hibachi steak and chicken was far from good. The meats were over cooked and dry. The rice was cooked well but flavorless.

SPOILED FRIED RICE!!!!
Got steak&shrimp hibachi for to-go and ate it when I got home, which is just 5minutes away. I was disappointed, the fried rice was spoiled! Why on earth would you serve spoiled food! To add more to disappointed, steak and shrimp were bland. Not coming back to this place and I don't recommend this place to anyone. You're better off going to panda express!

This is not a sushi restaurant, this is some kind of fusion Asian restaurant that does not serve Sashimi nor standard Sushi only a handful of rolls. So of course you walk in expecting to be able to order sushi and there's literally nothing to order. Horrible advertising

The rice is definitely not hibachi. Tastes more like Chinese style rice. The portions for the price is a ripoff!

This place is terrible, I ordered from Uber Eats and 4 different drivers cancelled because they got tired of waiting for the food, mind you we’re talking about 3 orders of rolls, nothing cooked! I mean how can that possibly take 90 mins to prepare? Last driver finally made it 2 hours after I placed the order. Never ordering or eating here again.

Great Food, Poor Experience Due to Staffing Issues

We came in around 7:40 PM, hoping to enjoy the atmosphere and some good sushi. While the food itself was solid, fresh and tasty...the overall experience left a lot to be desired due to clear understaffing and poor time management.

When we arrived, there was only one table seated and a single person ahead of us placing an order. We ordered and sat down without issue. Shortly after, a larger family of 5 or 6 came in and placed their orders as well.

About 20 minutes later, we received our miso soup, edamame, and a Philadelphia roll. We were told our remaining items, a sushirito and a rainbow roll, would be out shortly. However, we then watched that larger family receive all of their food, eat, and finish before we even got the rest of our order.

Meanwhile, multiple online orders were prepared and picked up while we sat there waiting. We ended up leaving around 8:40, an hour after arriving, with a frustrating sense that dine-in customers are not a priority.

The food quality doesn’t match the service level, and it’s disappointing to see a good kitchen being failed by poor management. It’s clear the team is trying their best, but they’re severely understaffed and not supported adequately by the owner.

Would love to return for the food but only when the staffing situation is addressed.

Also the zabutons need to be replaced theyre falling apart. This is a non issue tho.

Two words: Sushi Burrito. That's why you need to come. This place also and surprisingly has good bulgogi. I get my bowl with all noodles. They don't miss on the food. They stick to what they know. Really nice people. Generous servings. If you want sushi but not into raw meat, then you can order the sushi restaurant staples like shrimp tempura, California, or veggie rolls, or order a deep fried roll. The one star I'm taking off is admittedly unfair because it is a sushi place. I wish there was a smoked salmon roll [with imitation crab] as an option. Right now, the only ways to get cooked salmon in a sushi roll is to order one of the deep fried rolls, or to order the smoked salmon sushi burrito.

Lowest quality sushi I have had in DFW but didn’t feel compelled to leave a review until I noticed that they are engaged in false advertising on Ubereats and I am concerned that people are getting ripped off. The offer says buy 1 get 1 free for items that when you add them to your cart, it actually DOUBLES the price instead of getting anything free. I hope nobody falls for it
