So excited to have an authentic German restaurant right here in Aubrey! Pork schnitzel was great, rotkraut was great, and the mashed potatoes were perhaps the best we’ve ever had. They have a variety of German beers and wines. We’ll be back for sure!
Great food. Solid and friendly service. You definitely need to give these guys a shot to earn your dining business.
***UPDATE***After I posted my last review the owner contacted me for details and offered to cook for me personally. My wife and I went for lunch and the food was completely different! So good and flavorful. He confirmed our suspicions that the kitchen staff was overwhelmed and executed the food poorly. He truly cares about his customers and for that we will definitely be returning.I don’t like leaving bad reviews unless it’s really bad. The food was just not great at all. I had high hopes for this place but all around barely edible. I don’t even know where to begin. If you don’t know what German food is supposed to be, then you might like it, but I doubt it.Save your money and go to Bavarian Grill.
We were so hoping this place was amazing. Sad to say we were wrong. First and last visit. We have traveled Germany extensively and have never had a pork schnitzel so thick, with gravy that was filled with onion. When I ordered my food, I asked if the potatoes had onion and was told no. You would have thought that the server would have mentioned that the gravy had onion based on my asking about the potatoes. But no. The beer was kinda warm, not at all what we have in Germany. We had a pretzel for an appetizer, the cheese tasted like green peppers and the $11.50 pretzel was nothing at all like we get in Germany. Would not recommend if you prefer authentic German food.
I was sooooooo wanting this place to be great; it was ok. Please read in full, my family and I might be (as she says) German food snobs, but I am from Berlin and with that said have had great German food in many places (in the US). We were told about this spot by my dad's neighbors and they warned us that it was "ok", but I'll never pass up a chance to try german cuisine and Bier! So they're are several things here to note, they have a weird schedule (closed from 3:30-4:30 on Saturdays and maybe others) for a place this seemingly slow, why turn anyone away? At least 3 pairs of customers were told they were closed and not in the nicest way (not mean or rude, just not welcoming) if it were me I might not return after that type of greeting. Secondly, our waitress/ hostess (bless her heart) didn't have a clue how to communicate with her guests. The place was empty, yet it took forever to get the appetizer Currywurst out. They also have a limited lunch menu... why? Lastly, the overall quality/ taste of the schnitzel (sandwich) and Currywurst was just "ok". Why not offer fries with the Currywurst mit rot weiß wie's sein soll?! I would've loved to meet the owner, I feel the place could be great with some tweaks, but right now sadly it's just that...."ok".
Never had real German food. (Don't think Wienerschnitzel fast food counts. ?). Thought I would give this place a shot. Food was good and the beer wasn't bad either. I am definitely going to go back to try other items.
Great food, especially when you are tired of the same ole stuff all the time, it was nice to try different foods that you don’t see around here. We tried several entrees and shared to get a variety and it was all good. Go try it!
The desserts are fabulous!! The pretzels are fantastic! The garlic brat is so tasty! Great people!
Best food and customer service. A real taste from Germany. Loved everything I tried.
It's family owned ,it's family operate, its family run, it's family that is there. It was a food truck and now a dine in restaurant. He is trying to make a food truck a business of indoor seating and dining....its a very small menu. Only about 9 table restaurant. It was different. Few things I would have done different.

Start to finish this was a great meal! I had a sausage plate, my husband had schnitzel, 4 different sides between us, and the apple strudel bites for dessert. Everything on the table was delicious, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Hungarian bratwurst and the warm potato salad side. So, so good!! I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband really liked his. We will definitely be back to try some other options on the menu as soon as possible!!
Das essen is sehr gut! Wow. This is the German restaurant experience I’ve been waiting for in Texas. In fact, apart from this Mutter und Vater joint back Helen, Georgia, The Crazy German is some of die best wurst und schnitzel I’ve had in Amerika. We will definitely be back soon. Prost!!
We drove 40 minutes from Flower Mound to eat here, arrived at 5:11 thinking it wouldn’t be busy yet. The place was packed. So much that my party of three was asked to sit with another couple. That was fine, it was a ten top so we sat at one end, they sat at the other… no big deal, maybe it’s a European thing? Or maybe it’s that the hostess was a child and not really sure how to sit tables? We ordered the pretzels, potato cakes, a salad, the cordon blue, a meal with 2 sausages and a meal with 5 sausages, plus my husband drank beer. We thought all the food was great, tasty, served hot.Prior to our meal arriving, the child hostess sat a gentlemen who walked in by himself directly next to me. It made for a very awkward time as we weren’t asked if it was okay with us which I would have asked for him to be seated on the other side of the table where he would have at least had an empty seat of either side of him.The service was very slow and inexperienced. We sat for several minutes without even a drink order because we were told they were short staffed, but when I turned around the only female waitress was standing at the hostess stand talking to the child and eating yogurt. Our waiter at one point asked if we needed anything and then paid no attention when my husband asked for another beer. It was a very weird experience. The food was good, but even if this place wasn’t 40 minutes away, I would probably never go back given the bizarre atmosphere and poor service.I understand this joint is still new, and the food is really yummy so hopefully the wait staff get it together.
Great tasting German sausage. Beer is cold! Wait time was long to get a table, but what took longer was them cooking it. But it was worth the wait. I definitely recommend this place. I wish they had a larger menu with more options.
Almost 30 years ago I had the privilege to give to Germany for 3 weeks and had so many new and wonderful meals and adventures. I was able to jump right back to that time and take my husband with me tonight at this amazing new restaurant. I highly recommend everyone to come try out the Cordon Blue and the pretzels with beer cheese sauce.
