The food is here is terrible. Fish was soggy and have no flavor. Everything is bland and is cheaply made.

I order the lunch fish specials. Best thing is it's real catfish & lightly battered. Worst part was a lil dry & lack flavor. Strips were small, but expected because it was a lunch special. Fries were great & hush puppies taste good. Beans were okay & cole slaw was too sweet. Just finished eating.

It's very good. I had the 3 piece catfish with fries and hush puppies. Plus a fresh salad from the salad bar and tasty pinto beans. I'll be back again for sure.

We love this place! We live up the road and have been eating here for the last 5 years since we moved to Azle. The beans are amazing! Not a huge fan of fried food.. so we always get the baked fish with salsa and cheese on top (ask for grilled instead of baked) our food is always fresh and hot! I do think they need some music or some kind of noise playing in the restraunt, but it's not a deal breaker!

Food was really good!
Hot and freshly cooked .
We had the catfish, fries and hushpuppies with free salad bar and free drinks. (Senior special).
Salad bar was well stocked and lots of choices. Also big pot of beans.
Service was excellent!
Can hardly wait to visit again!

I stopped at David Beard's Catfish and Seafood while traveling from Cedar Hill State Park to Fort Richardson State Park for Living History Days. It was my first time visiting, and I’m so glad I did! The venue has plenty of parking and a welcoming interior. The receptionist was incredibly nice and polite, making the service excellent. The food came out warm and delicious. I had the lunch special—the fish and fries were great, but the pinto beans were the real standout. I’m officially a fan! The salad was fresh too. I hope to drop by again when I visit Fort Richardson State Park.

I wish I could rate them better (and look forward to making an improvement update in the future. See below.) but this time went poorly. I was confronted with what appeared to be a potential to-go food safety matter. I attempted to bring it to local management as soon as I was able only to be yelled at, hung up on, and future calls ignored. In a world where a lot of folks would have looked for a payday I tried to help by bringing the matter to management.

Thankfully, with the help of another location I reached corporate and spoke to senior leadership who assured they would investigate and address the matter and wholly apologized for how the matter was handled locally. They did explain that in processing sometimes things happen that can cause an off taste but that it is rare, is not a safety concern, and would not generally be served. It may simply have been a case of bad luck that 1 slipped the net as they say. Nonetheless, they assured me steps would be taken to review their inventory for food quality. I appreciate the responsiveness and assistance of the leadership team, very professional!

I do trust the corporate response which is why they have 3 stars overall as I do intend to visit again to reevaluate and update this review allowing time for corrective action to occur.

Just not impressed. The chiccken fried steak was tougher than an old boot. The fried seafood platter had very bland breading. Prices and service were good.

The only positive was our waitress. She was great and very sweet! Now onto the rest of our experience- first of all, the smell when you walk in smelled like a porta-potty. My steak was inedible, shrimp smelled rancid like it had gone bad, and to make matters worse there was hair in my babies food… very disappointed.

My wife and I had 5 piece fish plates. It was very good. The salads were pretty good the beans were very good an well. I highly recommend you try it. We had a large meal and it was only 31 dollars. Can't beat that for date night on a Thursday. Everyone was about or age it might have been seniors night. Check it out.
