The food was great. The steak was a little under cooked from our medium order, but the flavor and tenderness was awesome! We waited for more than 3 minutes at the door, when there were literally only four customers inside!! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful once they served us, but they say wait to be seated, when there was no one in the place!Overall, a good evening with good food!
Let me tell you something I've been to a lot of barbecues all over this great state of texas. This place had the best pulled pork and bacon wrapped shrimp I've had in my life.. If you want to groove on down to some pretty food that makes you want to slap your mama this is the place to be. Food was great not dry full of juice and mackey sheese and mashy taters were on the spot. Came back the same week had some more food and all all I could say was God Bless Texas and Flames barbecue. Make ya day fresh.
Kid-friendliness: Very much.
Parking: Lots of parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Our server, Kylie was fantastic! Brisket sandwich was excellent! Hubby had chicken friend steak and he enjoyed it! Brisket Mac and cheese, oh my! Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a live band and some desserts! Hopefully bananas pudding. ?Update, the dessert is good!!!!That smoked peach cobbler, delicious.?
Cleaned the place up. Food didn't have a taste. The brisket poppers were good. We were here at 5:00 pm Sunday and it wasn't that busy but it seemed the server was struggling. Would of been nice to get a water refill. It stinks when you watch the staff and it seems the staff is trying to pace each other regarding the workload.
Sooo... I have worked in the restaurant industry and always took pride in serving great food. When I went here we were greeted by our host Jess. I loved it. Then there was a guy on stage singing and he also was great. Our waiter was nice enough but could definitely use some guidance. Food came out wrong and warm. Ribs were dry. This place definitely has potential but I'm thinking the over is trying to run it or has hired a manager that truly doesn't get the assignment. Honestly with new management and a head chef that takes pride this place will stay open. But I don't see it lasting another year.
Our waiter, Jordan was fantastic! The food was amazing! My daughter had the tots that were to die for! I had the two meat plate with sliced brisket and ribs. Soooo yummy! Great place to eat.
My wife and I ate there for lunch today and I probably had the best fried catfish I have ever eaten. It was served fresh and hot by our server, Journey (yep, named after the musical group!). Her service was commendable as both our orders were prepared and presented quickly with plenty to eat. Before leaving, I told my wife I was already planning a return visit to see how consistently good their food offerings are - especially their fried catfish. Flames is where the old Mark Dean’s BBQ was in Azle off Hwy-199. If I find their food quality remains consistently high, then they will have several new recurring customers. If not, well, I’ll be sure to let you know. ;)
My husband & I both had the classic 1/2 burger with fries and sweet potato tots! It was all just wonderful! Tasty and the portions were great. No skimping here!! Our waiter was Jordon and he was such a polite and sweet guy! Made the experience even better! We also met Austin, who went above the norm to be courteous. We will be going back and telling family & friends to go! Thx, y’all!
Kris was amazing. He answered all my questions about their food, because my wife will tell you I tend to be a picky eater. They have great drinks, there brisket fries are the bomb and the Azle tots are great too!!! I mostly get a brisket sandwich and fries and dip it in their queso, from your neighborhood friendly fat man hahaha. Hope y’all enjoy
Have been here only twice but each time the staff and food was great. One night was open mic night and the music was fitting for eating and enjoying some tunes. Flames is always in the running when it comes to, Where do you wanna go eat? Stop in and enjoy a great meal for a great price.

We went on a Friday evening. We chose to sit on the patio and there was live music. I ordered a jalapeño margarita. It was amazing. My daughter ordered the brisket tacos, I got the chicken fried chicken and my husband got the Cajun platter. We waited a little over an hour for our food but it was definitely worth it. Everything was delicious!
Great food, atmosphere, and friendly service.
Haven't been disappointed with anything I've tasted. Good service and friendly staff, they have great seafood
Out of everything. Raw hush puppies, under cooked shrimp. Out of brisket and pork. Ran out of sweet tea during the meal. Worst $75 I ever spent
We have ordered 3 times via DoorDash and this review is regarding all experiences. I have no experience with the staff or in house dining.Chicken Fried steak has been very good. Maybe they should change their name and serve southern comfort food, but change their mashed potato recipe.Mashed potatoes - we had to throw them away both times. Very odd, tangy taste that was gross.BBQ - no sliced available, only chopped. The first time wasn’t bad, not great but my husband couldn’t finish his. The second time we threw it all away after just a few bites.I do not recommend this place and we have wasted way too much $ ordering from them. Their prices on DD are high for what you get. We will not make that mistake again.Sad because they have a good chicken fried steak.
