a simple place with great food and friendly staff. Ballinger TX they say is the nicest small town in Texas. The low humidity here certainly was a nice break. The food was high quality, tasty and a great value. Would gladly come again.. and they will hold the door open for you even minutes before closing time (2 pm). check it out!

We were passing thru Ballinger and desperately needed some good food and not just junk food so we stopped at Sylvias based on the google reviews and pictures. It did not disappoint! My daughter and I shared the spinach feta salad and added grilled chicken. Everything was super fresh and the chicken was very tasty and cut to the perfect bite sizes. We will definitely stop there again on our way through.
Because its home cooked it took about 15-20 minutes so if you're short on time, call ahead; but the food is so fresh its totally worth it.
Plus, they were so nice and welcoming.

This is the only place I've actually walked into and actually got treated with respect they really do cater to all your needs and make you feel comfortable/right at home. I've moved since then but will return soon! The Caesar salad is amazing!

Cute cafe in a cute little town. We stopped here on our road trip back from Colorado. They served us breakfast later than usual. They accommodated our needs. Very thankful for their excellent service and hospitality. Definitely a must visit if you are in Ballinger, Tx. Perfect spot for lunch or breakfast.

Great place for some good old-fashioned home cooked meals. Fair price with courteous service. If I'm in that area, I'm eating at Sylvia's!

This place was so charming—the couple who run it were so delightful! The food was also great—after several days of indulging in Texas bbq, our California stomachs were ready for something light and fresh. The strawberry salad with feta and almonds was delicious, and I loved the vinaigrette—it was the homemade version of what that weird red “French dressing” that I hated as a kid was apparently trying to be! So good! The lettuce wraps with chicken salad and bacon were also fantastic, as was the creamy Italian sausage soup. Endless amounts of iced tea rounded everything out, and I was sad we didn’t have time to try the crepes. If I ever find myself in Ballinger, TX again I will definitely be back! Great prices as well!

What a find! This is a wonderful locally owned French restaurant. The food was very flavorful and good and reasonably priced! I got the chicken picatta special and my husband got the spinach salad. And Sylvia the owner came to our table and talked with us!

Stopped in for breakfast on our way north. The owner and his wife were excellent hosts. Crepes in west Texas, who knew? Delicious food.
