The place didn't look very flattering but yall, the food was amazing. We had the 3 meat plate Brisket sausage and ribs. Gorge staight beans outstanding šŸ‘Œ. I loved it over Daniel's

Bbq chicken was bad… dry and seemed like it was reheated in the microwave.

Sausage plate looked like a kids serving and was dry.

Prices are very high, especially by the pound— the sign is misleading and is for half pound not pound like every other bbq place

Ribs and brisket and beans were really good.

Restaurant needs work… hard to even find entrance and building is a maze.

Owner/manager doesn’t seem friendly

This was my first visit to Roosters Bar-B-Q in Baytown since the new owners took over, and I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a friendly staff, and the pricing was very reasonable. The restaurant has that classic, nostalgic BBQ feel inside, nothing fancy, just the kind of place that focuses on good food and good service. I ordered the ā€œHoly Grailā€ plate (brisket, ribs, and sausage), and everything was moist, flavorful, and well-prepared. I always say, trust my review but verify it yourself. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to enjoy great barbecue and friendly service, Roosters šŸ“ is definitely worth a visit!

Food was overpriced for the amount they give you . The hospitality was the worst I have seen I came on 11/3/2025

Delicious!! I couldn’t believe this place wasn’t packed. The brisket was delicious, and my sides were amazing, I’ll definitely be back.

I was so excited when I heard that Roosters was back open. I went by on my way home to grab a bite and take home with me. I got the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, creamed corn and Banana pudding to go. I waited a while which was fine but I ended up with a very dry hamburger Patty that I think was left from lunch and they threw some onions on it. They did not have any Brown gravy, so they gave me cream gravy, which wasn't too bad. The mashed potatoes were nasty, they were so runny, I could drink them. The cream corn was not bad and the banana pudding was so runny I could drink it, so I put it in the refrigerator to see if it would firm up and it didn't, so I did sit there and eat some of it like soup and it was good, but it was not pudding. I paid $22 which is ridiculous for what I got. It makes me sad because I loved the Rooster and I hate to see a business not do well but the food is terrible and I will not be going back.

Let me start by saying my teenage kid is a VERY picky eater. We went and had a burger after school this past Wednesday. The burger was delicious! So much so that my kid wanted the same thing for dinner on Thursday! And the cheesecake egg rolls....chef's kiss! Food is excellent!

James is the best pitmaster. I got the baked potato, and you won't believe how big and amazing it is.

The food was amazing. The service was spot on. I’m a very picky eater. The baked beans and potato salad are both great. They are not premade they make them daily and don’t put onions in either one. I never eat either one of these out but I will at Roosters. The restaurant was nice and clean.

Highly recommended this place is under the new management and you can definitely taste the difference in the food. The interior was also redone will definitely be coming back.

We tried this place out. My husband and I shared a 2 meat plate. I’m not sure if the portions are being weighed because the sausage was definitely not an appropriate portion compared to the pulled pork. I also had asked for the jalapeƱo sausage and was given regular but left it at that since we were just trying the place out.
The meats had almost a sour flavor to them. Like if they had been reheated. The macaroni had a decent flavor but the cheese was turning gritty from being in a container for too long with the heat to high. I liked the cream corn.

Unfortunately we won’t be back.

The barbecue was so tender with a great smoke flavor and the seasoning was delicious! I'm glad I no longer have to drive far for good Barbecue.

So my main complaint is they stayed in the same location. They don't have access to a fresh meat market anymore. They got rid of their most popular item, the steak fries. Burgers are still dry and proportions are smaller and cost more.
