There were 4 of us, and I was the only one who ordered a steak. It was over cooked and tough. Since I was paying, it’s upsetting that my food was terrible. So many times when I have ordered steaks at other places, the waiter asks me to cut my steak to see if it’s cooked right. He didn’t ask and left too fast for me to complain. Since it is mainly a steakhouse, they need to know how to cook a steak.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We were a party of 5 and the moment we walked in they had an awful attitude! Our whole party was not there (One was Missing) and they couldn’t seat us (which is understandable) but the attitude was unnecessary! The lady who was up at the Host Stand continued rolling her eyes and when our other member of our party walked in I went back and told her “He is here” she AGAIN rolled her eyes then handed the silverware to another hostess to seat us. Once we got to the table we already told our waitress that we needed the manager and we waited about 20 minutes before she even came over and the server did NOT even tell her that we needed her. OUR SILVERWARE WAS FILTHY AND SHE BROUGHT US PLASTIC FORKS AND KNIVES. The manager did discount our food due to all the problems during our time at the restaurant. 4 out of 5 got steak and once the helper brought our our food we had asked her for butter… she NEVER came back. We asked another and waiting 30 minutes plus for the butter! By then our steaks were cold! Our sever NEVER came by when our food was brought out to see if they have been cooked properly like Saltgrass and Longhorn Steakhouse does. Instead she was up at the hostess stand taking to them instead of checking her tables. Finally she comes over and we ask for the manager AGAIN and we tell the manager that we waited the amount of time mentioned above. She had asked if she could take our steaks back and REHEAT them. I will say this is the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! WE WILL NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER COME BACK HERE! They have LOST our business!

A bonafide, certified Texan Steak dinner. Good service, great ambiance, and delicious steaks. I ordered an eight oz center cut top sirloin and it was succulent and savory juicy with ever bite size morsel— a serious lip smacking pleasure! Hubby had a totally different deal; his T-bone was superb. End of story! The sides to the meal ( fresh string beans - perfectly Al dente and fresh glazed Brussels sprouts) were equally well prepared and dished up to total customer satisfaction! Our 85 lb puppy loved the dinner arrangements as well. She sat peacefully at our feet at the bar ( she is a service dog) and for good behavior, after we ate, she received tiny tasty tidbits of our steaks.

The drinks were poured heavy and delicious. My steak was as ordered and all the food was good. The mushrooms are awesome when hot, but cool quickly and they are not that good. The tortilla soup, I could have done without also....but the steak and potato were very good. No sauce needed.

I had a large order for 7 people. Our order was delivered late. Salmon overcooked came with 1 piece loaf for 7 people.
I've eaten here since it opened back in the 70's. A Rooster burger cooked medium, with cheese, and crispy steak fries is my go-to order. But sometimes I just NEED a good chicken fried steak! Consistent quality for over 4 decades! God bless the Cox family.

We were celebrating several family birthdays during the month of September and chose The Saltgrass Steak House in Baytown, TX for our get together. There were 15 of us and instead of giving us a room to ourselves, we were squashed together at several tables in a back corner. Right behind us was a totally empty private room that would have been great for us. We had one waitress for the entire table who did a very good job keeping us in water and drinks. Our food came in a reasonable time and was good although two people who ordered the filet but did not get a filet cut of meat. It was definitely a poorer quality cut of steak, almost like what you use for fajita's. It was sent back as it was also over cooked per their request for rare (came out barely medium). For the price charged for meals, especially steaks, more care needs to be taken in the kitchen. Don't know what's happening to Landry's restaurants, but the quality and customer service is slipping badly. Won't go to Saltgrass again for family functions.

Texas Roadhouse is sooo much better and better food quality and prices. My filet and draft beer were great but that’s the only positive thing. My husband’s ribeye was poor quality and way undercooked. Broccoli and green beans were undercooked/zero flavor. The Jalapeño bites were grossShrimp was like rubber. Menu was misleading on them. Stated 12.99 but payed 16.99 for 6. They would not substitute a side salad for green beans and the extra cost was $3.50? For undercooked, flavorless beans ? Tortilla soup was good but was cold. Server was very nice but we had to wait a while for refills. Save your money and go to TR.
