Incredible experience from start to finish. We sat at the bar and our bartender was so nice and warm. We had amazing drinks and sushi. I hope they change their bar chairs to have a better back rest, that’s my only feedback. Will come back again!

Fantastic experience at Aya Sushi. This was the first time I have dined alone, and was feeling a little bit awkward, but the chef and sous-chef were very kind and made good conversation. My server was very knowledgeable about the dishes I asked about and the ones that were served. I ordered the premium 7pc chef's choice with the spicy sake maki (roll). My only suggestion is that if you want to really taste each of the 7 nigiri, do not order a spicy maki. It will mask the flavor they worked so hard to create. 🥲 Their agedashi tofu and buta kaku ni (braised pork; similar to thit kho) were great as well. And as for dessert, if you like a lighter texture and flavor order the green tea-ramisu. If you like a heavier and smooth dessert, order the cheesecake brulee. Honestly worth trying at least once for a special occasion!

We went for omakase last week, and were genuinely amazed by the experience. Every bite was so thoughtful and delicious, and the service was impeccable. We had an incredible tour of Japan in the heart of Bellaire! Yoshi and his crew make it so unique and fun!

Went to lunch and there only a few customers and they seemed a little understaffed. My waitress was really nice and she was also the bartender. She made a great lychee martini which was the highlight. I ordered the “premium” nigiri chef selection and a himachi maki roll. The first 4 pieces of fish were chewy and fishy tasty - did not taste fresh. The last 2-3 were not terrible. I was very disappointed as the restaurant had good ratings. Maki was equally disappointing - the rice is cold and hard. Nothing great about this restaurant other than the drink my waitress/bartender made.

Just average sushi but at a price point like Kata Robata or Kokoro. So I would say go to those places instead. The service and mixed drinks were wonderful!
Wonderful ambiance, highest quality ingredients, great service. Highly recommend!

Aya continues to deliver an excellent top of class Houston Japanese restaurant experience. The crudo plates were extraordinary, the rolls delicious and the nigiri pieces sublime, each seasoned individually in ways that enhanced rather than distracted from the excellent fish and rice.
It is always great to have their omakase experience. Took my mom and girlfriend for a dinner there, mom took 150k miles flying here and we had a smooth and lovely night here with the chef together.
Such delicious nigiri with so many options to choose from. Chef Yoshi's sushi rice is the best!
Perfect food (Flounder and Torro crudos were phenomenal). Great service. Great cocktails (and fantastic gin selection). And consequently, I had a great date. I love this place.

Service was exceptional from when I walked in until I left. 18 course anniversary omakase was beautifully presented, tasty, and good value. Ambience is lovely and the space is roomy. They didn't cram a bunch of tables in. It feel spacious but intimate. Highly recommend.
We had the Anniversary Omakase and it was a delight! Our servers explained what we were being served and how best to eat it....who knew to turn sushi upside down so the toppings hit your tongue first. At least I didn't know.
So glad we found this place. First class service. Everything we tried is delicious and great quality.

Beautiful interior and bar area. Everything is very modern and sleek. We tried the Moriawase for lunch which included soup/salad along with 7 types of 2 pieces of sashimi. I don't remember what fish we exactly had but all of it was delicious, fresh, and imported. The quality of the sashimi, crudo along with the carefully picked out ingredients made for a flavorful, intricate lunch.
