The gentleman who runs it is very kind. He's got a good sense of humor. He servers Sonoran style Mexican food. YUM 😋🤤

My husband and I came here today on my lunch break for lunch. We had the pleasure of meeting Mack today. This place was like nothing we've ever seen. Mack sure has the southern hospitality and made us feel like home. He gave us a tour and made us feel like we were at home. The food was good as well, but truly it'll be the hospitality that keeps us coming back. We can't wait to see what Mack has in store for us next time!

A piece of old Texas that still lives. The food is better than most other places and the owner is passionate about ensuring you’re taken care of.

Looks nothing like the photos. Old, run down place that is very dirty. Run by ONE guy that does everything (owner, waiter, cook, cashier etc.). The food was tasteless and very disappointing. Will not recommend it, nor will I return here.

I ate at Carmen’s many times when Carmen was the cook. 35 yrs ago. It is just as good today as it was then. Mack is very gratuitous and is continuing to prepare food from Carmen’s recipes. If you haven’t been, please go and support Mack!!!!!
We had an amazing experience at Carmen’s Place. Self service chips and dips with all the fixings as well as drinks. Super inexpensive and delicious food. The owner is now Carmen’s son and he has amazing stories to tell about the place. Feels like a step back in time, in the best way. We felt like VIPs as he offered us free dessert (but I have a feeling he makes everyone feel like a VIP😊). Wish we came here sooner. Go support local & keep good ole places like this alive!

The food tasted kinda old. With every bite, my wife became more and more turned off by the food, not able to finish it. Chips were stale. Not much cheese in enchiladas. Just old tasting, imitation cheese. Like elementary school cafeteria enchiladas.

I am not one for giving poor reviews as I try to find the good in a restaurant, knowing how difficult that career can be. However, I cannot let this experience slide.
I've travelled to all states west of the Mississippi River accept Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alaska. Never have I experienced such poor Mexican food. All the pictures being posted are not what I experienced. The refried beans tasted as if it was from a can and reheated, the rice was dull and bland, and the chicken in the quesadilla didn't have much flavor. I've been to a Mexican's family home in California and the food was the absolute best Mexican I've ever had. Also, having just finished my career in hospitality, restaurants and hotels, the housekeeping team had excellent Mexican food. This place didn't even come within 1% of either.

Nothing like a small local place that's been here since 1969, and the recipes are authentic and straight the owners mother.

I Was in town from out of town on a job and my stomach was calling for some good food. Hopped on maps and found a little spot called Carmen’s Place. Food and service did not disappoint. If you’re really hungry, get the #4!! The green sauce has just the right spice to complement the flavor. Great prices as well!!
