Sakura Restaurant Benbrook 🌸

This is not the Sakura of the past. We’ve gone to Sakura since it originally opened and the quality and taste has changed for the worse. Our typical is the gyoza, sushi rolls, and udon or another noodle dish. Today when we placed the order for a delayed pick up (placed at 3:40, pick up 4:45) we received a notification that it was ready at 3:50. We called and told them it was for pick up at 4:45 and the person at the front told us she would handle it. When we picked it up at 4:45 we checked the contents to ensure everything was there but when we got home we realized the sushi had sat benefit the two warm items we ordered and was now way to warm to eat. A blatant health code violation that would have led to food poisoning had we not known. The remaining food was cold, soggy, and only worthy of the trash can. We called to address this with the establishment and they offered to remake our food, but I told them I wanted a refund and then they never responded (conducted between phone calls). The update is that the manager would call me back on Monday, I have little hope for that.

My advice if you’re going to eat here DONT order ahead and don’t expect quality service. So disappointing.

Update: I called and did the contact us form for the establishment after their comment and have been ghosted even after multiple attempts. Poor quality service, poor customer service, and a terrible experience. Spend your money somewhere that values customers. Not here

Love the atmosphere cause it's very quiet in there, and you can hear yourself think. The food's pretty good, but I like thin Teriyaki sauce not the thick. I've been there twice and the service isn't that good because they don't bring out everyone's food at the same time. I waited almost ten minutes more than the person I was with, after they got theirs!

I am genuinely confused by the high ratings. The food here was awful, the service is worse, the lighting is blinding, and the all you can eat rules are bs. I feel bamboozled by reviewers.

ordered soup to go, while waiting went to restroom Old Gross Way too much chemical smell, and soup was not good, who knows when it was made, definitely not fresh soup.

First impression: sewage. The place has a bad smell. From the bathroom is my guess. Had not been cleaned in a while from the looks of the trash can. Whatever they are using to “deodorize” made me nauseous.

Completely empty restaurant. Menus were sticky. Tables were sticky. Ordered General Tso chicken, not much chicken, and no clue what the sauce was. Salty and the consistency of jelly. Not General Tso.

Had high hopes of this place and had been looking forward to coming for some time. Completely disappointed. Would not try again. It’s been a few hours, I’m just glad to not be sick.

For context, I have not left a bad restaurant review in years. Came in a little after 12 on a Saturday for the advertised buffet, for a quick bite. There was no buffet. Only 1 other couple were there. Sat in front of cashier stand. My table had a 2 Inch wobble in it, Hostess watched as I shoved sweet and low packets under the leg to make it stop. Ordered a Bento Box with teriyaki chicken. Took almost 30 minutes to come out. The chicken bits were inedible. They were hard dry and stringy. Tasted liked cooked way before and then dried out. The vegetables were mushy and the whole thing was way too salty, and I salt literally everything I eat. I ordered fried rice, got white rice that was cold, in clumps and hard on the bottom. I told the hostess, she said she would talk to them, maybe they boiled it this morning?? She gave me a 1 dollar discount. Won't be back.

I love the food it’s so good I’ve gotten from here 3 times every time food was but they do take long to give you your food, came in to order it was empty we put our order in then more people came in and sat down they got their food around 20 minutes in while we were already waiting for 40ish minutes got two kids chicken Katsu and some of the dumplings that was it. They did forget to give me one of the chicken katsu and gave me a different item good thing I checked before I left and got the correct item. I was disappointed ☹️ not angry I get it takes time to make food and things happen 🤍

The food is great, it is nice to have a vegan option the Crispy Tofu is great, my wife really loved her tempura shrimp and California rolls. I got a mixed drink called a bullfrog that was great and my wife got the lime Michelob ultra which you can't go wrong with that. The music was very relaxing, I am a place is clean and well it. The menu is overwhelming there's so many options. I'm not a tea drinker but it looks like they have every kind of tea you can imagine. and we decided to get a Dubai chocolate pistachio bar for my wife I'm leaving she's very excited to try that later. The price was very reasonable for this food, atmosphere, and service. We don't live close by but we'll definitely be coming back

I ordered through Uber and was expecting a very basic tasting meal, but I was so surprised to taste such a fresh, tasty, flavorful meal! It was very good! It was well put together, ingredients tasted fresh. Its hard to find good places to oder from through Uber. Its expensive, it takes time to arrive, it's never warm, but FINALLY this time it was perfect! Yall keep doing your best your blessings will come!! Ty

My boyfriend and I decided to try a bunch of different things from their menu, and everything was disappointing and not worth the money spent.

The gyoza and egg rolls tasted about the same as store bought. The onion soup was inedible which was unfortunate because I love soup. I couldn’t tell if it was watered down and it had a strange aftertaste. The chicken katsu was very dry. The furikake fries were basically just regular fries & all their seasonings were at the bottom of the container— which I did try, but in the end we just put seasoned it ourselves with salt. Again, not worth the price if it was just regular fries. The fried calamari was okay, probably one of the better items we decided to try. The beef teriyaki box’s quality tasted similar to a school’s lunch menu. The General Tso’s chicken was mid, the sauce was thick and gooey. The udon noodles were actually cooked well, but again, the taste was at most okay. Spent almost $100 for funsies just to be disappointed with every dish, and I inevitably tossed everything out.

I will say the service was friendly, but nothing we tried is something we would come back for.

Edit: Forgot to mention we placed the order online with the expected pick up time being 11AM. The order wasn’t ready till 11:40AM.
