Having family that lives in Blackwell, I can't believe that this is the first time we visited Prarie Smoke BBQ. On a Friday evening we didn't have any trouble getting a table for our party of eight. The restaurant is an order-at-the-counter establishment, and the staff were so patient, helpful, and attentive. Stopped in to snack on some crispy, deliciously hot onion rings and an order of chicken tenders with fries, that were equally as good as the onion rings! We were met with a friendly, polite and professional staff who provided exceptional service! Very very clean establishment with a conservative warm and welcoming environment! When we finished we were given a friendly farewell! Refreshing to visit a business where folks like their job! We will be back!

One of those hidden small town Gems! Nondescript metal building and not too fancy on the inside but very clean. The food more than makes up for any lack of atmosphere. Very generous portions, fair pricing and excellent quality on every visit. The chicken fried steak is huge and very tender. BBQ is fresh and top notch, prepared carefully by the owner, Pam. They also have a nice selection of beer and mixed drinks. Well worth the drive to tiny Blackwell, Texas!
