We were nearby for a Texas Raptor Run and we always try to eat somewhere local on Saturday afternoons. We found this great place on Google Maps and had a great time. The staff were great, food was exactly what we wanted and we had an amazing time.

This place is top notch, we always order ahead for pick up and order lunch that is delivered by them to our daughter to BCISD for lunch, we always get desserts with every meal, the homemade cheesecakes are so delicious, sweet tea on point and everything on the menu is cooked with love.

Having family that lives in Blackwell, I can't believe that this is the first time we visited Prarie Smoke BBQ. On a Friday evening we didn't have any trouble getting a table for our party of eight. The restaurant is an order-at-the-counter establishment, and the staff were so patient, helpful, and attentive. Everything we tried was delicious, including Loaded Fries, BBQ Brisket Sandwich, Wings, Chicken Fingers, and various sides. We can't wait to return to Prairie Smoke BBQ on subsequent visits to Blackwell.

One of those hidden small town Gems! Nondescript metal building and not too fancy on the inside but very clean. The food more than makes up for any lack of atmosphere. Very generous portions, fair pricing and excellent quality on every visit. The chicken fried steak is huge and very tender. BBQ is fresh and top notch, prepared carefully by the owner, Pam. They also have a nice selection of beer and mixed drinks. Well worth the drive to tiny Blackwell, Texas!

We were passing thru town and stopped for lunch on a Sunday. The service was fast and friendly and the food was worth a very short wait! Everything was fresh and delicious. We ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, the Chicken Finger Basket with fries, tea, and some cookies. Everything was fantastic!
I had a plate with brisket ribs and macaroni. Very tender and smokey. All of it was above average. A cool guy (customer) named Brad bought me a beer while I waited. Thanks Brad! The girl at the bar was very nice and attractive. I didn't get her name but her mother was the one that cooked the brisket and owns the place. She could easily make it in a bigger city with a lot more volume with the quality of food they produce. Beats what's in Odessa. Exceptionally nice people. I wanted to come back tomorrow and try more things but they were going to be closed for several days to have air conditioner replaced. Must try.

They need more air-conditioning in this small eatery. The BBQ was pretty good, but the ribs I got were a little dry. My grand daughter liked the chicken tenders and the waffle fries were very good.

WOW! I was blown away! My husband and I ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides plate and were planning to share it. I took one bite of the brisket, took the plate from him, and told him he would have to order his own. The brisket was perfect! The ribs were fall off the bone with that smoked flavor filling your mouth. Both side were great (mac & cheese, and green beans). We also had a chocolate pie, which was probably the best I have had in quite a while. I highly recommend stopping by for a bite to eat.
