My family and I were at a baseball tournament nearby, and stopped by for some food to go. My wife pumped gas outside while I stepped inside and asked to make a to go order. The person who greeted me was so rude and acted so annoyed by me popping in to make an order, that I just left. He was annoyed that I needed a menu, tapped his fingers impatiently. I was shocked at what a jerk the guy was - completely unprovoked. I was warm and friendly until the 6th rude moment, then I returned the rudeness with two words, and left. I worked in food service for years and never would have treated a guest like that. I dont need to be worshipped - all I want is decency and civility and a little patience. This man gave none. I hope he was just having a hard day and is normally cool to people. Im upset that it landed on me, if so.

Hidden gem. Must try!! Hugs portions. Hot salty chips. Large portions. Super affordable. Homemade corn tortillas. Breakfast tacos. Red and Green salsa. SOOO GOOOD! WE LOVED IT!

The Al pastor tacos are worth driving out to try, handmade corn or flour tortillas with big portions. The salsa Verde was rich with a good amount amount heat. 3.50 a taco is hard to beat.

Traveling from Burnet back to Kyle on 290 I was craving Mexican food. I was going to wait until I got back to Kyle to eat a late lunch but remembered there was a place in Henly. So glad I stopped. The food was amazing. The service top notch. I will definitely be eating there whenever I’m in the area.

They need to update their menu prices My friend paid $17 dollars for 2 horchatas only . Drinks were ok The menu price shows $2.99.
Front service good Cook very disrespectful and told waitress that was the way he made tacos when I requested that my tortillas were not crispy I like them soft. Also arguing with new cook disrespectful and mean very unprofessional told him I only explain once learn it. Lobby full of customers. Very disappointed 😞

We live across the street and have tried this place three times before posting this review. We had high hopes.
The food is just not good nor flavorful. We found meat in our salsa.
The place is quite a dive… that can mean good and bad things. In this instance, it’s just not good. The ceiling tiles are stained. Our booth wasn’t clean and torn up… and there’s just an off putting smell.
This was just a plain disappointment. The original El Rey is completely different and we like it much more.
