This was me and my husband’s first experience dining at the Budaful Tavern, and we had a wonderful experience thanks to the superb customer service provided by Michael and Anjelica. They went above and beyond to assist us with menu and drink selections, making our date night special. Being new to the area, we appreciated their warmth and attentiveness, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
However, our experience was slightly dampened by the interaction with the general manager, who seemed rather unapproachable. My husband, a freelance photographer, graciously offered to take complimentary photos of the restaurant’s interior to help showcase the ambiance online, as it currently isn’t reflected in the images on Google. Unfortunately, the offer was met with what felt like unnecessary hostility, which left us feeling uncomfortable as new customers.
That said, Michael and Anjelica were the true stars of the evening. They are exemplary representatives of your establishment, and their exceptional service alone would bring us back. We hope the rest of the team can follow their lead in creating a more welcoming atmosphere for future guests.

The bartender intentionally left out that fact that they automatically add a gratuity to every bill before I paid off my tab. I left him a decent tip too, so I unknowingly ended up tipping almost 50%. This, to me, is shady and dishonest. I was shocked that the workers here would think it is ok to do this to a customer. The food / atmosphere score doesn't really matter because I won't go back to a place that treats customers like this. 1 star. It looks like there is another review from about a week before my experience where they had similar issues with the bartenders and tips. Guessing it is a pattern here.
EDIT: To the owner: I did mention this in person, and the bartenders didn't care. I never was shown the taxes / gratuity either - I paid at the bar and not through the qr code website. Your staff member only showed me the list of food and drinks and then the 'additional' tip screen.

We had a really nice afternoon at this spot and I’d definitely recommend it for a laidback brunch/lunch spot. Folks there were super nice and the food was great.

This is an update to my last review. It’s recent review as of Saturday, September 28. We went there after our UT football game to catch the rest of the game and have a few drinks and food. We were out in the patio but later we were asked to leave the patio to go inside due to a large party coming. The server Sam was amazing and he moved us indoors and took all our drink orders! When we were closing out our tab, Michael the bar tender at the bar was rude and told us that we didn’t tip him enough and showed us a bill and put $40 on top of the bar and told us it wasn’t enough and we’re not serving you anymore. We clarified that we paid way beyond outside and we were told to move inside and he tried apologizing, but it was too late to cry over spilled milk. This is the great local establishment and I’ve never had issues with the last time I was here. The service was really great. That time spent over 40$. This time we spent over $250 and we tipped way past 25% inside and outside. He came to our car to apologize after their own staff quit. Very unprofessional and somebody should have a conversation with Michael on how he handles customers who are paying way above and beyond.

This was such the cutest find in Buda!! The staff and atmosphere was amazing and im so glad they opened this place. My only critique would be to have more beers on draft and maybe provide a fried egg for the burgers. I hope more people check this place out

Went in for their steak night on a Wednesday night. $25 for a steak cooked to perfection, greatly seasoned and a loaded baked potato. Wine and beer list needs lots of help. Service was nice.

Y’ALL We visited on 8/31/24 I have a conundrum with writing this review. This place is soooooo good that I’m sure by the next time we are able to visit we will have to wait a long time for a table! If you live in Buda consider yourself lucky! Cause you visit anytime you want! I know we would be there practically every day! We had two orders of the Billy Jack. I order extra chipotle cheese along with the blue cheese crumbles! The fries were a little overcooked, but still tasty!
Wheelchair accessibility: Have a ramp at least to the outdoor patio and main entrance
