Visiting from Houston, a group of us stopped in before our river weekend to check the place out because we frequently go dancing.

I personally love minors being involved in dancing, they need to learn somewhere! Lots of line dancing and dancing in general.

Why on earth don’t they have water coolers for the dancers? I bartend in one and frequent others in our city and almost all of them supply free water coolers and cups to stay hydrated.

It was overall a good vibe, some of the bartenders seem to pour short but if an ounce of liquor is their standard pour, maybe get a beer or seltzer where the alcohol content is consistent.

Door man from “the Deep South” was honestly the best part both letting us in the venue and on our way out. Give that man a hefty Christmas bonus, pls.

Dance lessons were fabulous especially for a refresher course. Played country music only.

Outdoor bar mixed up our tab so annoying chasing that down and switching to an inside bar. Matt Castillo is amazing but the sound system failed him. The sound system performed better for Jon Wolfe. Jon Wolfe killed it! Matt and Jon are the epitome of Texas Country! ❤️

I really wanted to give this place a try but after reading the reviews about the female manager, I'll just take my money and fun together else. I sure hope the owners fix this and fire her so more people can enjoy this place.

Unfortunately me and my husband were told to leave this establishment because we were both wearing jerseys for sports teams. Or anything else for that matter. Exclusive public club. How sad to tell people what they cant and cant wear or support? Stear clear of this place.

I would not recommend this bar to ANYONE! The place is very cool upon arrival but my group and I were quickly made aware of how poorly the bar is managed. A few people in our group had to use the bathroom, after using the bathroom we waited outside for the rest of our group to avoid being split up. We were approached by a supposed female “manager” who instead of simply asking us to move over a few feet, insisted on grabbing someone in our group and forcefully pushing us out of the way. While we tried to explain to her why we were waiting she took it as disrespect and kicked us out. We simply did not know we couldn’t stand there. It was not posted on a sign or anything for us to know. After looking into it a but more once we left we realized there are multiple BAD reviews about this lady. She reeked of alcohol and got in every member of our groups face as we were exiting to try and escalate the situation. For what reason? We have no idea, we were instructed to leave and thats exactly what we did. I would’ve loved to stay and enjoy the music and good paying customers who made the night memorable, but the poor management and the ego filled bar manager completely ruined it. I would not recommend this place to anyone, the headache of dealing with the below average management is not worth the over priced $9 shots that they offer. On a another note about ordering drinks. One of the bartenders took a picture of my card and when I asked him why, he got flustered and claimed he used the picture to see the numbers on my card because it was dark. I understand needing light to see, but the same phone he took a picture with he easily could’ve used his flashlight. Sketchy. 0/10 will not ever be back!

I came her with 50k and wanted to get bottles and have a good time as I’m a guest in this town but my girl had to use the restroom so I was politely waiting on her to exit the bathroom. A woman manager started cussing me out telling me to move. I told her I was going and my feet will not stop moving but as I was doing that I attempted to try and de-escalate the situation. That made her even more mad and she started grabbing me to move faster and said some things to me that I do not want to repeat. She then made up a story to the bouncer saying we poured a drink on her and we need to leave. I calmly explained to the bouncer that we have no drinks and please feel her shirt as it would be dry but at the end of the day he has to do what his boss says. The bouncer and male manager were super nice and respectful but the female has a power trip problem and will cost this company a lot of money. It sucks to see such a cool bar be ruined by bad management.

Not going to lie, I’m not one to come and leave a review. But the star spangled 45yo ASSistant manager (lady), will power trip and put hands on you, after politely telling her to not put her hands on me she freaks out calling security saying we poured drinks on her (we had just got there, not one drink in sight). Having us kicked out of the building threatening to call the cops. In my professional (not so professional review at this point) experience, this is out of hand and after seeing multiple reviews on this same employee is honestly just funny. Sad to say it being the entire atmosphere of this bar down and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Good luck even making it to the bar! Be on the lookout for this geeked out patriot🫡. GOD BLESS AMERICA this is what it’s all about

Overall, worth a visit if you go on the right night at the right time!

I was visiting from Dallas (where the dance halls are reliably packed), and decided to check out this Maverick’s location with some friends. We went Wednesday night for the line dancing lessons—there was a decent crowd for that, but not much two-stepping happening. Still fun and plenty of space to dance.

We came back Thursday for college night, and that’s when it really picked up. Around 9:15pm the floor started filling up, and not long after it was packed. Lots of good dancing and solid energy. A little heavy on the line dancing if you ask me, but there was lots of participation from the crowd! Mostly current country songs (or remixes of older songs) on their playlist. They also did a Daisy Duke’s competition later on and the place got shoulder-to-shoulder crowded.

The layout is pretty cool—there’s an indoor dance floor, a 21+ bar upstairs that’s more chill, and an outdoor area that feels more like a club, with games and even swinging picnic tables. Definitely a fun spot with a good variety of vibes depending on what you’re looking for.
