I had heard that I needed to try this barbecue and I was not impressed. First of all I ordered a three meat plate with my three meats being brisket and black gold doesn't allow three meat brisket so I got two meat brisket and sausage which consisted of two slices of brisket and a small piece of sausage that cost more than twenty five bucks can't remember the exact price but kinda steep my wife got a chicken salad which was a bunch of weeds with a half of chicken that was really small and dried out my buddy got four ribs that were dried out and about 3 bites worth on each for twenty plus dollars, I'm telling ya I've had better Q for less. And the servers were about as dried out as the meat.

I would give them 5 stars but over half the time I go they are sold out of brisket. I figured they would have a better idea of how much food to cook by now.
In response to the reply: this is not the first time I’ve come in and y’all were out of brisket, there were other times that were not during holidays. It’s great brisket so I’m not surprised a lot of people order it but dang cook an extra one or something. I’m sure the $30 per pound price will make up for anything leftover or maybe use it for chopped beef the next day. Happy Holidays

Wow, what a wonderful BBQ restaurant in Buna, Texas. The moist brisket was filled with flavor from the first bite to the last one. Sides were on spot, smoky Pinto Beans and tasty Potato Salad. BBQ sauce was sweet, just enough vinegar pepper for a great add on to the meat. Its a must stop if you are near Southeast Texas for sure, you will not be disappointed!!
I’d give it about a 2 out of 5 overall. Honestly, it just wasn’t the experience I was expecting, and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped. The Texas Twinkies weren’t for me — they were especially too spicy.
What really stood out, though, was the customer service. The young staff at the front and in the drive-through didn’t come across as professional, and the vibe felt more like a high school hangout than a restaurant. I was hoping for a better overall experience.

Phenomenal BBQ joint. I was really impressed with the brisket grilled cheese. It was one of the best bites I’ve ever had.
Brisket itself was good. Turkey was excellent. Yeast rolls and Corn Bread was a great touch.
Only complaint is that the line doesn’t back up at the meat cutter it backs up at the register. My food could have been hotter due to the back up between the cutter and the register.
I can’t wait to come back and try some of the non-bbq items.
