“Stopped in after lunch today to see about tasting a white wine to take back to the ranch for the evening. Met Pat and his wife plus another couple (she bakes German sweets from her grandmother's recipes to have along with the sweeter wines and port). All four were so engaging and wonderful company. The winery offers a $15 tasting of 5 wines of your choice along with a charcuterie accompaniment to pair with the wines you select. I ended up purchasing 4 of the five I tasted. When Pat first described the Bellemente Calliente Sangiovese, which has a hint of roasted jalepeno, I was curious, but didn't expect to like it. I bought two bottles. It will definitely pair well with smoked meats and I think it holds its own as a drinkable wine watching a sunset in the evening with or without food. The star, however, was his Port Sullivan, and for $45 a bottle, you're getting a steal! One of my favorite port wines is from a small vineyard in St. Helena, CA called Prager Wineries. They have remarkable port wines, and I would put the Port Sullivan (half the price of the classic Prager Port) right there in the running. Don't miss the chance to stop in and taste these wines! And on the weekends, you get the treat of having some authentic German cookies and pastries if you choose to taste the port! This winery is a hidden, up-and-coming gem! Thank you, Pat and friends, for your hospitality and great wines!! Case Discount: 15% Off 2019 Bellamente Calliente“
