Good house armory

Brisket was awesome, beans were good, not open consistently but food is worthwhile if you're in town when they are open.

An old dive if you will but a small local business—the service was great and food was phenomenal. Our group had barbecue stuffed potatoes, 3 meat platters with brisket sausage and baby back ribs, their potato soup, side salads and fries. The baby back ribs were delicious—the flavor came from the wood they were smoked with no dry rubs or sauces. The side salfs were of decent size with mostly lettuce but some spinach and salad greens too. Would love to go back and try their pizza as well. It was 6 minutes from The Riv resort which are it nice to be able to get some food and not drive too far from the river. They had 3-4 different homemade pies as well. Fresh flowers on the tables were a nice touch along with photos of birds of the area as well. Fantastic food and experience.

The employees seam to work very hard and know their rolls well. All of the food was hot and hand prepared. Brisket was really good, the sausage was ok. Others I was with said the pizza was amazing. Seating outside and pletty of space inside. Would go back again.

My wife and I were riding our motorcycle through the Texas Hill country. We were spending the night in Camp Wood and found this place close to where we were staying. We had the ribs and the brisket. The ribs were so tender that they fell off the bones - very tasty!! The brisket was also very good. For dessert we had the home made banana pudding - awesome!! If you are trying to decide where to eat and you're close to this place - Eat Here!!

Great flavor, just enough smoke flavor with seasonings that complemented the meat! We had brisket, ribs turkey and sausage, all were exceptional! Dining area was clean and inviting, service was excellent!

We decided to give this place a try. Bbq was descent but customer service was terrible and based on that we will never go back. My wife and I walked in and I smiled and waved to the three employees behind the counter. They all looked down and never said hi or welcomed us. There were only 4 other customers in the place so it wasn’t busy. We simply were blown off for reasons unknown. It felt weird but we continued to the order counter. I ordered the large meat plate and asked how many pounds of sausage and brisket that came with. The employee asked me “why that mattered, its large.” I said ok, I would like to change my order to 1 lb of brisket and 1 lb sausage. She seemed annoyed and said “ok here we go, lets just start all over!” I apologized and told her it was tough ordering bbq from a menu I was not used to. She said “what is so tough about it?” with a rude tone. I said nothing and just paid. As the guy behind the counter was cutting our sausage I asked him if he could make the brisket moist/regular. He replied “hope you like lean brisket cause thats what I cut.” I told him I was never given the choice when ordering and would like the lean swapped out. No acknowledgment. I asked the meat cutter if there is a Dave is here today (as he was a family friend) and he replied simply “no.” He plopped our bagged order on the counter and went into the backroom. We left with our bbq only to discover later it was left as lean. I’m not sure what happened with our experience at Canyon BBQ. It seems like we walked in just as all employees were in no mood for hospitality. Either way, it really ruined the experience for us. Customer service really makes or breaks it.
