Great Americana foods...probably the best chicken sandwich ever...tender? lightly breaded and moist. Dessert also great...homemade Millionaire pie...Pineapple, Cream and Pecans...Great feel and old school diner looks together a feel of hunting lodge with lots Deer mount displays.

To my surprise we had an awesome country meal here. My chicken fried steak was both thick and tender and the breading was classic crispy fried chicken crunch. Great cream gravy and mashed potatoes, too. Hubby had a Southern Style burger onion rings, bacon, 2 kinds of cheese, and bbq sauce. While I thought the food was surprisingly good, the sullen service from our teenaged server was not an asset to the restaurant. I ding them a star for that. We were out for the afternoon in Leakey and then Camp Wood and needed to get something to eat. The original plan was something to hold us over before getting dinner in Kerrville. We found the Corner Store open with Covid-19 safe practices and decided to try it. We had no cell service so we're "flying blind". My wife saw that the daily special was chicken fried steak so she ordered that. So much for something light.. It was very good! Nicely breaded, steak was on the thicker side...read full review
